CULLMAN — A local pastor’s complaint about a brand of underwear being sold with “pornographic” pictures on the packaging at the Cullman Walmart reportedly led to a recall of the product.

source< br />
This might be the pic he was looking at..

the local pastor says..

“I was in there shopping for some underwear one day, and looked at the men’s pictures on the packaging,” he said. “On a few of the packages they were very pornographic in the way they were dressed, in skimpy underwear, so I went to the manager and asked her if she thought it was inappropriate to be displayed.”

but the comments on this are priceless..

One comment goes like this...

I guess this joker of a preacher thinks that by showing a man wearing under wear on a package would cause people to committ sex in their minds. Geesh.

[edit to put source, was laffing to hard]

Anyone able to find a picture of the exact packaging that has been recalled as "pornographic" ??

My mom and I would love to see, if anyone comes up with it.

Actually, I've just finished reading the comments and it wasn't easy as I kept cracking up. Very funny story. Though I wish they'd put up the picture as I can't imagine that it would have been greenlighted by the Walmart buyers if it had been as bad as the pastor claimed.
Anyway, my favourite comment:
"The pastor is NOT gay. I repeat: the pastor is NOT gay!"
Classic.
All the best.

Most guys don't want to look at another guys schlong. I can understand that. I have seen underwear models on these packages that make me uncomfortable. Still, I do not know if i would call this porno..

But.. back in the early days - pre 60's it was considered indecent for ladies to be shown in their bras and panties. This bordered on porn and there were laws against it. Today you can walk into any wal-mart or pick up any Sears or JC Penny catalog and see all the ladies in underwear you want. ( models on the packaging in the bra section)

If this preacher is an old timer I can see where he is coming from. he remembers a time when these things were illegal in public and doesn't understand how the times and the laws have changed.

welcome to 2010 where underwear has pics on the packaging..

but it is in no way even close to being pornographic..

ROTFLMAO at the comments:

What did he expect to be on an underwear ad for men? A fluffy kitten?

Or better yet:

a picture of a man wearing underwear on an underwear package ? the horror !! somebody better tell jesus !

Or:

Thank God for this pastor's keenness. I have, for many years, suspected that there is something pornographic hiding in my own underwear and now, I'm sure of it! I wonder if the good pastor would take a peek and offer a final judgment on that issue?

Or perhaps best of all:

I find this article to be pornographic and request that it be removed immediately.

Oh, people. People are so silly. Not to make a pun, but---of all the things to get your panties in a wad over...sheesh.

Well, Good Lord, it must be quite a while since he's purchased a package of underwear, or read the sunday paper with all the store adverts.

I bet the underwear he was wearing to the store to purchase the news ones, were far more obscene!

Oh man, this had me laughing. Too funny. I don't think I can top some of the comments from the link, so I won't even try.
I think I will make this the last thread I look at for the night and end it on a light-hearted note.

Thanks for the laugh.

I hate to say this (because I don't know the fellow personally) but this pastor is probably a closeted homosexual.

This is a fairly well-understood psychological phenomenon.

A heterosexual man is not naturally repulsed by seeing another man scantily clad or even completely naked. It's a completely mundane experience, because for a heterosexual person simply seeing another man dressed in such a way does not illicit sexual thoughts.

A closeted homosexual man, on the other hand, experiences sexual arousal upon seeing a scantily clad man, such as an underwear model. The confused homosexual does not know how to process the arousal (usually being in complete denial of their own bisexuality/homosexuality), and as a result the natural reflex is repulsion.

A heterosexual woman or an openly homosexual man will have the exact same subconscious reaction as that of the closeted homosexual man, although the feeling will present itself simply as arousal. Being accepting of their sexuality, the heterosexual woman or openly homosexual man will simply acknowledge the feeling of arousal as a natural response.

So if you really want to be honest with yourself...

(Supposedly) heterosexual gentlemen: are you disgusted or repulsed when you see an attractive naked or scantily clad man? Are you disgusted by the sight of another man's private parts?

If so, I have some bad news for you...

No offence to the cleric but I believe he might wanted to look at a younger boy's picture...then for sure there would be no complaint.

Such a silly little story....if I would be the manager I would throw the bastard out and ask him to buy his underwear somewhere else..

at your speculation about which picture it might be.

Gotta love how WalMart keeps pandering to these moralists while at the same time selling them crap from the immoral China for profit

It's underware. It goes on bodies. Get over it.

Oh...forgot my usual disclaimer!!! IF THIS IS EVEN TRUE...
