IIS does not send such response text, and if you see no evidence of the 500
in the web server logs, then something else between the client and server is
sending that response.

Something else between client and server?

Do you think an entity was creating barrier to what it ever had to?

My browser speed and functionality has now returned.

I got this same error a few times today while trying to respond this this thread about the Arizona militia engaged in a firefight with Mexican drug cartels on the border. This is supposed to be happening right now.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Maybe traffic related?

It seems to have stopped now, I am surfing ATS with no problems.

2nd line wishes all of you a great day.

Yea, I am surfing now with no problems also.

But I would like to know if the cause of this was generated artificially because the board is under maintenance or was it generated due to something else.

Hopefully whatever the problem was it has passed. It was rough there for a few minutes and I have a cable connection.

It might have gone away for now, but I would still like to know from those who maintain this forum if this was something generated by them tinkering around or was it due to an outside source.

I just got the error as well. This happened to me a few weeks ago for over a half hour and when I was able to log in I noticed that people were able to post while I was unable to connect. I made a thread about making an alternate website in a different server for when this or other anomalies happen but no one was interested.

Its googles fault they have been having problems all day after updating thier servers.

It should get better in a little while

So far only one mod came in to chime about it saying it has happened to him before but nothing as to what caused it.

If this has happened before, it has never happened to me. Today was the first time I noticed it and I frequent this site a lot.

And judging by the replies a lot of us were affected and there were no isolated cases.

Can you elaborate about being Googles fault. I am a amateur when it comes to errors like this. I don't suscribe to any of google's services on my browser or my computers. I use Startpage HTTPS as my search engine, awesome engine.

Thanks in advance.

Yep, happened to me too!

For a second there I thought, great! Obama pulled the plug on the internet access to ATS!

Haven't got any responses other than it has happened before.

Hold onto that thought.

I was told in my google newsletter that they had a problem with an update to the servers which caused them to run less efficient and they couldnt take the strain of users on the web.

But the fixed the minor bug a few hours ago so it should be fine now.
