There is where we disagree. If the thieves where not there none of this would have happened. So they are to blame for every circumstance that resulted from their criminal actions. The old man did not ask to be put in the circumstance. The thief got shot because of his actions.
I don't think we disagree to much, just differ on where the choice lies.
I stated earlier in the thread if the men didn't choose to steal from him, the entire situation wouldn't exist.
However, the man still CHOSE to shoot at the suspects, an inadvertently killed one. It was his choice as to shoot them or not. As it was their choice not to steal from him.
They both made poor choices. A wrong in defense of a wrong, is not a right.
