Wikileaks: The Go-To Site? Not anymore!

The Wikileaks Conspiracy !!!!

OK, now I am concerned. It's pretty well known
that wikileaks is the go-to site for whistleblowers.

However a new article posted by CNN has all kinds
of red flags and alarms going off in my head.

I am referring to this article here:

www.cnn.com...

This came from the front page of CNN written by John D. Sutter, CNN
on 7/7/10

My problem is not what's in the story.
It's what's been LEFT OUT !!!!

First off they do a story on wikileaks and tout it as
THE place for whistleblowers to reveal state secrets
as if it is their own personal advertising for the authorities
or law enforcement. It's more like a calling card
for the government.

Another thing that bothered me is: when has there ever been
a MSM story where Assange was NOT interviewed in
the article??? Assange is NOT involved in this story.
They do have a picture of him from a prior story.
But he is a no-show for this one. They do quote
Assange a couple times, but those quotes are from
an older story done with the BBC.

Another thing is a couple weeks ago, there was a report that
wikileaks website SSL network had been compromised
and they could no longer receive leaked documents.
Well I went to check it out and tried to post my
e-mail address so I could be added to their mailing list
and I got an error.

Assange fears for his life from the Pentagon
Assange won't come to the US
Manning not charged with treason

Now for the conspiracy part:

Could the government have seized control of wikileaks
and Assange and his merry band of workers and is now
in control of the mechanism which accepts these secrets
that are submitted from anon whistleblowers???

Could you now go to wikileaks and submit it
directly to Uncle Sam ????!!! Very scary thought indeed.

There just seems to be too many oddities to chalk
up to coincidence.

Your thoughts???? Please discuss !!!!

edit for spelling

That is indeed a very disturbing possibility .
I'm hoping it is nothing like that but , I'm of the same mind that something fishy is going on .
Stranger things have happened .

just think
our government has done this very same thing before.
They raided kiddie porn publishers and took over their
websites in prior years and ran the site for a while
just to get all the names and addresses of the people
who were members and posted their illegal content.
There were massive arrests from what I remember
across many countries. I think they are doing it again
right here with wikileaks. It's a trap net for the
whistleblowers. Maybe I'm wrong or maybe I'm
just paranoid and seeing more than there really is.

Paranoid or not , it would seem to be plausible .
I have wondered for some time if this isn't what they are trying to do with the tobacco industry here in the U.S.

Drill it into our heads of how evil tobacco is , go all out with their 'anti' campaigns , jack up the prices to the point that the industries are collapsing and then orchestrate a well-planned takeover that would nationalize the industry , finally telling us that tobacco is not as bad as they once thought it was .

Same thing could be happening with Wikileaks . Drill it into our heads how evil Wiki is , go all out with the 'anti-Wiki' campaigns ...

another thing that bothers me is the frequency
of articles lately. Wikileaks has been publicized
in the MSM lately. Not quite what you would
expect from a website that accepts secrets.

I now wonder about it. I think the straw that broke the PTB's back came when Wikileaks said they would release all these cables.

These cables are not going to be released. Wikileaks has been compromised.

If I were the government this is exactly what I would do. The site has never crashed or been dysfunctional. The guys that run it our computer nerds and know what they are doing.

I wouldn't doubt though that Assange ordered all the networks closed to destroy the submission process thereby protecting potential whistleblowers. Although your theory could be just as likely. When is this leaked video supposed to come out. They said soon, but it has been weeks.

I agree on this, so many red flags went off when I read that article.

CNN seems to be practically screaming "Go to Wikileaks!"

Time will tell soon enough what has occured in silence over five weeks.
But just to guard against any chance of paranoia, please take two days a week of no ATS whatsoever!

that is exactly how I read it also.

I mean, it's one thing to whisper something
in my ear but it's quite another to paint me
a 12 X 18 Interstate billboard sign saying:

"COME ON IN !!!"

and CNN just painted a billboard sign

last I heard
Assange said he didn't have those cables
or maybe that was his evil agent twin
impostor saying that. Don't know.

A sad day indeed for the view humans who don't believe MSM stories, if wikileaks has been compromised and Assange in hiding, being blackmailed, threatened or even worst - got a fat payout to keep quite.

I hope Assange is reading this...

please explain why you feel like that.

WIKILEAKS WEBSITE TO BE ABANDONED

cryptome.org...

"Within the last few hours we have learned that WIKILEAKS (Assange) will commit no more time and effort into restoring our website www....__._ .

The website has been effectively down in terms of document submissions for many weeks, and as we speak there is no way for the general public or potential whistleblowers to upload documents to the site.

We have been told that WIKILEAKS will be launching a completely new site hosted in Iceland. However, Assange would not provide any time lines, or any indication of user options and facilities.

During the exchange, Assange also confirmed that no legal team had been provided to Manning, and no one from WIKILEAKS had met Manning during his detention in Kuwait. This was completely at odds with recent WIKILEAKS emails requesting $50,000 in donor funding for a legal team to fly to Kuwait.

Wikileaks Insider"

I can't find anywhere else reporting this yet so unsure of the credibility!

hey bro
thanks for that update

just goes to prove that once the site
is abandoned, a gov entity can hijack
the domain very easily.

Do not submit your documents to __._
now or at any future time. Wait for the new
website.

I agree I sure wouldn't submit anything while this is going on. As for friendly safe Haven in Iceland..I don't know. As its obvious the the govt(s) not only ours but others have a small army of ready willing and able caught hackers ,,as well as those doing it for recreation..and not even mentioninng the patriotic ones..that will gladly keep their eyes peeled for any activity that can shave some time off their sentences or conditions of release..not to mention amnesty if they catch a "big one" like Manning. Leamo lamo LMAO or however we spell his name , I have a gut feeling got something for that patriotic act..no different than any other informant might..maybe a forgiveness of that 50 or 75 000 dollar judgement he had for the one he got popped with. Speculation on my part, but imo plausible. Whats sure if you advertise yourself as a whistleblower Haven..you are stationary bullseye..immediately a target for adversries of the PTB..they want in too..and have no quibblings going the extra stick of ram and keystrokes to do it.
Google found that out recently when it said it would curtail activities of some sort with China..Well..do tell ..The Chinese did not like that and unknown elements..hacked Google..getting the names of many Chinese dissidents..who up to that point were fairly anonymous..
www.cnn.com...
nexus404.com...
www.youtube.com...

Precipitating a back and forth counter response..in classic hacker
one upsmanship style they are notorious for..

We and our accounts are simply the lil folks that get caught in the crossfire..
Lets not forget Putins unhappiness with Georgia..no.. not our Georgia in the U.S the other one over there..
www.popularmechanics.com...

The queston is then..can any site such a volatile environmment as this that fulfill its proposed protective or cloaking function..on the internet?
I don't think so..safer to do it like the Taliban and Bin laden via carrier pigeons and mule...and be prepared.to relocate at a moments notice..and at the worst..be prepared to die at a moments notice..as well..
No such thing as a clean way to do this..IMO

The internet with its origins in the military..is not the place..its porous backdoors..its hacked history..complete with its info war jungle atmospehere make it as real and deadly as any jungle..That make its the worst venue one can use...If one doesn't want to be found out..

Certainly the Manning case will have a chilling effect..but wont stop someone who is really bent on getting something out..and does not care about danger to personal safety..as long as it gets out..willing to pay the ultimate price..and not care about any deals..Some might call those terrorists..some might call them heroes..all perspective..but it gets done anyhow.

Hi buddy great thread flag for you.

I believe this guy has sold out and is on the pay roll now. I think he is a pussy and a coward. He is the one of the biggest sell out's of all time. I figured he would do it the second the heat really got turned up and he did.

I bet anything that is sent to him now goes right to some 3 letter agency.

I don't know what time that CNN article on 7/7 came out b/c I haven't followed them for a long time, but there was a post on WL's twitter that said this (as if to hint re: CNN's hoo-ha recent name-dropping of WL?):

Disinformation campaign against WL is heating up.
Demand full primary sources. Check bias. Riposte.
