As it turns out, our hosting ISP was performing some "network upgrades" between July 2 and July 5, which corresponds to these reports of unavailability.

We've implemented a monitoring service which gauges the performance of our domain from dozens of different global locations... if a problem still exists, that should let us know.

Seems to me it's slowed down considerably in "returning you to your thread" after you make a post. Also in opening a thread. Don't know if this means anything or helps. And I'm on a really high-speed line that zooms everywhere else.

Wait. It WAS slow this morning but now (just now with this post) seems back to normal. Thanks.

I have been having sluggish performance with several sites, ATS included, it started since the Firefox 3.6.6 update (26th June).

Things worked fine with Chrome and opera.

THEN a flash update was made available for firefox and now everything is running good again. The weird thing is, most the sites that were running slow didn't have any flash content on them! Mostly _javascript!

I am in Las Vegas, NV presently and can confirm this site is being bottle-necked at points. I tried to visit it last night and while it did eventually load, it took over 5 minutes. And even then, images were broken. This lasted for about 20 minutes, and then everything was fine again.

I tested other websites at the time and can confirm it wasn't an issue on my end.

Can I ask who your hosting provider is?

Thanks for the updated information, that matches the period during which I was experiencing problems...so the mystery is apparently solved!

i tried to discuss this but a mod canned it.

you got a bug. free stuff won't detect or fix. the program i found that works is Stopzilla. it's 30 bucks but it works.

are you getting redirected to google or well-action.com? if so, its got you good.

So it's not just me then?

For about a month now I've not been able to see most avatars, most buttons, and no pictures in the threads.. and the site loads slow for me but only half as long as others report.

And I was getting google-analytics pop-under windows that would redirect thorugh one site and then to a normally harmless random one.. as well as gugle-com one, and one or two others I forget now.

About the same tim ethis began my trusty Spybot S&D stopped updating, and I couldn't get to their website to do it manually. AVG Free is working perfectly and only finds tracking cookies.

Shortly after I couldn't view some free websites with .my-goo.com at the end... no not porn, an online simulation racing site.

I downloaded Uniblue RegistryBooster 2009 and it found 1003 problems in the registry but the problems continue. Next I downloaded SpywareBlaster and I still get the same problems.

Now I'm thinking of a Reformat, except I did one only three months ago.

So HELP.. anyone.. HELP!!

Have you tried Malwarebytes?

www.malwarebytes.org...

Someone recommended it to me after Avast antivirus let a virus slip through, and I just tried the free version. Try that and see if it works. It did for me.

But some viruses or worms make such a mess that it's more trouble than it's worth to clean them, you are sometimes better off reformatting. If you have an image saved of your system this is no big deal, just reformat and restore the image. I use Acronis True Image for saving and restoring a disk image, but fortunately have only had to do that once in the last 5 years. I've had two cases in the last 5 years where the antivirus failed to detect/block the virus, malwarebytes fixed one of them and the other I had to reformat since cleaning it was too problematic.

Try putting your computer in safe mode and then running your spyware, with some of these viruses it seems you can't catch them unless your in safe mode.

Thanks will try that now.

Tried the link to Malwarebites but the page won't load.. this is becoming very annoying.. I only reformatted 3 months ago.

I went the long way around getting MalwareBites today and once installed I let it do a full scan.. it found 10 nasties hiding where I wouldn't think to look.

Now I can get on all the sites I couldn't and here I see everything as it should be... and yes there are horses on each side now too, lol.

Must remember not to click on them.

Thank you to all the members for sharing and helping with solutions.

Every page load here is between 30 seconds and one minute.

That is painfully slow dude.

Either ATS is under some kind of attack, or someone is changing site code.

Be afraid!
