Bans on kissing while driving a car, feeding stray cats and building sandcastles are among a rash of new laws Italians say threaten to turn the country into the ultimate nanny state.
More than 150 "public security" laws have been introduced since Silvio Berlusconi, the prime minister, granted extra powers to local councils to help them crack down on crime and anti-social behaviour.

Ah, the precious Liberals/Progressives/Socialists wanting to control all that they can before a mass awakening.
What will it take to people finally wake up and take these yokels out of their law making duty? Would they have to take your kids away from you because you are not a good parent and role model? I already see that happening in the education system here in the US, where kids are being exposed to political policies, sexual education for 1st graders (6year olds), hatred of world religions, etc.
Only a matter of time, where there will laws regarding procreating and who can procreate.

Why do you need to label him as a liberal?
To furthur divide people?
Just call them what they are, control freaks.
In 2008 Berlusconi stated that:
We want a social market economy. A democracy cannot afford citizens in poor conditions. With our book on welfare we tackle the needs of the weakest families. It is decidedly a left-wing policy. This government which centrist, liberal, with Catholics and reformists, intends to advance with policies that the left-wing promises by word of mouth.
