That is simply untrue.
Aids is spread mainly through male homosexual contact, because of the rampant promiscuity and the very high number of sex partners these guys have.
And your new, now openly queer US military are about to discover that for themselves.

Well I was in nursing school and the statistics were actually larger for heterosexuals. Now I look and it seems they changed the numbers, I actually had a cdc report handout on it, now the numbers are different. But, like they'd never have an Agenda... OK...

Lets let every disease in.

That will be best for America.

It's not like they would be the ones coming over in fact I highly doubt they'd be the demograph. It's not so easy to get off that rock and it is very expensive. They're not to be concerned with.

I am not understanding why this is scaring you so much. Aids is not 'gonna get ya' just cause people living with the disease are coming to your country every now and then. It's 2010, people aren't scared of the disease as much anymore, they realize that people who have it will not infect you with close contact. People are more educated about this particular disease then I think any other one out there and they know how to protect themselves from it. This isn't going to change anything, its your own personal responsibility to protect yourself from this. Its not airborne, wear a condom and make wise choices and you'll be fine no matter how many HIV positive people are living in this country.

Or, even better, lets kick you out if you yourself get one. Then we'll really be all squeaky clean.

Come one! Come all! Step right up to the blood bank! Donation accepted all day and night! That's right get your HIV Positive blood from immigrants. The taste is unlike American blood. [Satisfaction not guaranteed.]

Gross, huh?!

WOW!! You guys are about to draw and quarter the OP right here in front of everyone?!?
Okay so now we have one more threat from outside of the country just welcomed right on in. Ther is no cure!!! That pretty much sums up why we should keep them out. No hatred involved, in fact I feel for them, however, we have plenty of sick folks here already that need our help. If you weren't fortunate enough to be born here, I'm very sorry.

You wouldn't want to do that to just any old nation.

Which one would you send me to?

ETA - come on pick one that you hate.

Me, I personally wouldn't send you anywhere because your not hacking your aids virus all over everything instantly infecting everyone and bringing our country to the ground. The virus doesn't work like that so I don't really see the issue here.

If on the other hand if it was something airborne and deadly, something along the lines of an open seeping infection that could be easily transmittable, I would deny your request to enter America. Not because your HIV positive though.

Sorry to be so crude...

Men will f men and women unprotected.

The disease will spread.

Especially those who hate America the most. It'll eb a new form of terror to use. That's what I think but not only that, the hospitals are terrible as it is, cross contamination runs rampant, and there will definatley be more and more slip ups as the demand on those workers increase. Yeah and I never really got who I am supposedly hating against in the first place????

I guess we all have a different perspective on this.

But as a hetro guy, lesbians are of absolutely no interest to me.
As a chick, I am guessing you probably also have very little interest, contact, or knowledge of the male homo scene.

If you think predatory males are a problem for the single girls, well predatory homo guys are even more openly promiscuous (I am reliably informed).
It is the vast number and variety of partners that is the problem for spreading aids among male homosexuals.
Plus sodomy provides a much easier path for aids virus than conventional hetro sex.

Condoms do not stand up well to this heavy duty activity either, even if they are even used.
It is not discrimination, but statistical fact, that male homosexual activity is a major vector of aids.

Who denied that? Your allowed to have sex with other consenting adults, its your job to check them out before you get intimate with them and put yourself at risk. Blacklisting people with the disease is not the 'cure' for this problem, its education and prevention awareness and personal responsibility.

You obviously don't know how negligent the healthcare workers are these days, and I guarantee witht he stupid healthcare bill, it's going to be worse. Just see how many people will die because of cross contamination. We stayed this healthy for so long because there was such a ban and that they knew how to keep the cross contamination down when there were so few that had it, but if we get a whole slew of infected people, the care taken will generally slip, and there will be more cross contamination, because they'll be overtaxed. The nurses already work 12 hr shifts now, how about when the hospitals are being overrun by hiv infected people? It's going to be very bad.

Why is it that when I read your post it seems you are talking about a zombie invasion...hehe

The big question to you is why stop with HIV and just say any disease? With HIV you only need to keep your lifestyle in check unlike other diseases that are transmitted much easier.

Well that may be true, IDK...however they are really not the ones I am hating against, I am really not hating against anyone(well maybe Obama), I was worried about the state of our healthcare and our hospitals who are negligent at best now with cross contamination, no matter who it is or what the disease. There is a study that shows like 60 percent of people treated in a hospital have come out with staphlycoccus and salmonella. It will be even worse with more people infected with a disease that was under control enter the states and use those same hospitals, who will be even more stressed because of the healthcare bill and the sheer need for more nurses and trained specialists, it's a mix that could be diasterous, IMO also, I will be protecting myself by not seeking medical attention at a hospital ever again. But. before you say I am hating on anybody, you should get your facts straight that was not at all what this thread was about. I guess you jsut read the title and no further.

I'm sorry I come across as such a hard a$$. I could be wrong. Hell, I'm at the point that I don't even give a flip what Pres. Obama does.

I have compassion for AIDS victims that are already US citizens. Maybe we should put a brand on the immigrants foreheads - HIV+

Then it would be ok with me.

The United States — home to an estimated 1.1 million HIV-positive people — was one of only a dozen countries that barred entry to HIV-positive visitors, along with Armenia, Brunei, Iraq, Libya, Moldova, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Sudan, according to the advocacy group Immigration Equality.

www.timesonline.co.uk...

Surprised it took US this long to lift the ban.

I was unaware that HIV and aids were 'under control'. I don't think anyone is going to argue that hospitals could do better. We are depending on humans to never ever make a mistake. To be exactly correct 100% of the time and thats just not possible. There are going to be infections, and people with the wrong leg cut off and their lives ruined. Its unacceptable but its reality and luckily statistics are on our side.

Were more likely to get in a car wreck then having a mix up in a hospital but we all still drive. Thats called being human and doesnt justify a ban on people just because they are HIV positive.

The public health system is in enough trouble from under funding, and the rapid rise of antibiotic resistant infections.

Diseases that were almost wiped out, (such as Tuberculosis) are coming back, mainly through illegal immigrants.
It is not a big deal to screen all legal immigrants wishing to become permanent citizens,, but it is the illegal ones that are causing the problem.
