On Tuesday, MSNBC announced that Lawrence O'Donnell, had been given a contract to fill the 10 p.m. slot following the Rachel Maddow Show through the 2012 presidential election.

Lawrence O'Donnell has referred to himself as a "practical European socialist," and is an outspoken liberal who will not let anyone get away with avoiding a question. Lawrence O'Donnell's show will not be a top choice for an appearance by someone like Rand Paul, Sarah Palin, or Michelle Bachmann, all politicians who hate answering legitimate political questions and label them "Gotcha" questions, because they have no answer for a liberal audience.

Lawrence O'Donnell's show is not being rushed, and not expected to premiere until the fall of 2010. No announcement was made as to the title or content of the show, only that O'Donnell is "developing" the show for the MSNBC evening prime-time slot.

Lawrence O'Donnell will compliment a strong liberal weeknight lineup, and will be add a Washington insider anchor to the dialogue during the mid-term and general elections. His take no prisoners style can be seen in numerous commentaries on various subjects and personages, show promise for a thought provoking show, and promises to be thoroughly denounced by the Right-Wing media.

I really like Lawrence O'Donnell he hits people where it hurts and demands they don't tip toe around questions. Don't ever expect any weak conservative to visit his show because they know they will be crushed for not answering his questions.

I'm dumbfounded how that opening article could ever dream of placing Rand Paul beside Sarah Palin. They are COMPLETELY different.

That aside, from watching the videos, he strikes me as highly intelligent but clearly biased.

"Your party stands for ignorance..."

You can't say that! You just can't, when YOUR party is responsible for devaluing the US dollar to dirt and allowing the Federal Reserve and their counterpart on Wall Street (together forming a neo-fascist movement) to create and loan more fake money than all the other administrations in history combined, 10 times over.

If you haven't figured out by now that both parties exist to give you the illusion of freedom, then you haven't been paying attention.

I agree my friend. But he was a former Senator(Democrat) and they won't put someone who doesn't have biased talking points to be a counterweight to FOX.

He only served a short time because he said he hates Washington and was only there for a friend who was a Senator. He is far more likely to attack the Democrats and especially the White House, when Olbermann and Maddow aren't willing to attack Obama and the Dems he is more than willing to do so.

I don’t think it has to do with party lines but more about beliefs, he is a Social Democrat and attacks anyone who steps out of line, even Democrats. He just really hates the Republicans just as all of us Social Democrats do. We still criticize the Democrats too, but we are rather sympathetic to the Dems.

The way I see it.

The left needs their version of O'Reilly/Hannity/Beck to rant, rave, yell, scream, call people names and so on. Looks like they got their man. As I cannot fathom how people put any trust in the talking head pundits/newscasters/whatever you want to call them(liars?) and this guy, judging from the clips posted, is no different just on the "other side" I can assure you I will not be tuning in for his show, just like I don't tune in any of the others, left or right. Just more hatred and divisiveness that I don't need.

To my eyes this is a prime example of why the left/right paradigm is a sad joke that keeps us divided.

Divided we fall, eh?

The MSM is also a sad joke and should not be viewed IMO. I can't stop anyone, so go ahead if you choose.

I see it all as propaganda.

Your mileage may vary.
