On Tuesday, MSNBC announced that Lawrence O'Donnell, had been given a contract to fill the 10 p.m. slot following the Rachel Maddow Show through the 2012 presidential election.
Lawrence O'Donnell has referred to himself as a "practical European socialist," and is an outspoken liberal who will not let anyone get away with avoiding a question. Lawrence O'Donnell's show will not be a top choice for an appearance by someone like Rand Paul, Sarah Palin, or Michelle Bachmann, all politicians who hate answering legitimate political questions and label them "Gotcha" questions, because they have no answer for a liberal audience.
Lawrence O'Donnell's show is not being rushed, and not expected to premiere until the fall of 2010. No announcement was made as to the title or content of the show, only that O'Donnell is "developing" the show for the MSNBC evening prime-time slot.
Lawrence O'Donnell will compliment a strong liberal weeknight lineup, and will be add a Washington insider anchor to the dialogue during the mid-term and general elections. His take no prisoners style can be seen in numerous commentaries on various subjects and personages, show promise for a thought provoking show, and promises to be thoroughly denounced by the Right-Wing media.
