I was Appalled to see this video on Youtube this morning with my coffee.

I know that all Officers of the Peace are not bad, yet a lot of bad apples seem to be showing up on the street and this needs to be dealt with.

Here is a video that is shocking to say the least, The Cop shoots a dog that is on a pole and restrained.

If you have a weak stomach, I'd not watch this, just to let you know.

It is just sick how pathetic some human beings really are. Hey I have a gun let me kill the damn dog and they I won't have to worry about this anymore.

Sick Sick Cop.

Human beings are 90% murderers i reckon.

Police get most of the bad ones who want to make a living, and the gov and crime get the rest.

Not much to say for this vid. Animals in uniform, and police do not give a damn one bit as long as they are killing something.

When will we start putting these thuggish gang members down, or at the very least in cells where they can't terrorize the public?

The dog obviously was not a threat we they left it alone at the beginning it was laying down and resting.

It just goes to show you how little it takes a Police officer with little training to resort to deadly violence instead of asking for some help.

They both drew their firearms rather fast for a animal that wanted to sit.

I really am having trouble with this one.

First of all, where I live, in SE Pennsylvania, two different agencies would have done a much better job than the police. That would be the Animal Rescue League or the Humane Society. I have seen them in action and the results would have been a living dog at one of their facilities being cared for and more than likely adopted.

I am not sure what these police officers have been trained to do, but it looks as if they have been taught more about shooting handguns than animal control.

They guys should have called for backup( animal control )!

Star and Flag for bringing it to our attention!

In Columbia, Missouri, near where I live, swat teams have at least twice in the last few months invaded homes and the first thing they do is shoot the dog. One of the homes had two dogs and they shot both. In front of the child. God forbid that an officer get bitten by a dog that wants to protect his home and family. Well, I suppose it's better than shooting a 92 year old woman. Our finest did that too. And then "planted" marijuana to justify their action. Since the old lady didn't have any weed they brought their own.

I could not watch the video. The still image was enough for me. This makes me so sick at my stomach. I honestly think if I had witnessed this in person and had my gun on me I would be in jail right now because I would have shot the officer. Seriously

Were these officers punished? Anyone know more?

WTF!!!!! I am so angry at this! The dog is in no way agressive. It's just sitting there and he shoots it for no reason.

Has anyone complained about this? Are they under investigation? If they can't handle a placid dog without murdering it then both these guys need to lose their badges immediately.

I worked Animal Control for 1 year back in the 80s, I couldnt deal with the amount of animals that had to be destroyed so I left the job.

There was no reason to shoot this animal

The officers have no training with dealing with animals that much is obvious, and they definitely have no training with a catch pole.

A trained animal control specialist could have walked this animal away with a leash.

They are idiots and should be charged with animal cruelty and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

Even if this animal needed to be euthanized for whatever reason it was done incorrectly in this case this is not how you euthanize an animal with a firearm shooting in the side of the head is the wrong way.

these cops should be fired and prosecuted.

I'm really getting sick of these cops in this country.

The dog was even wagging it's tail after the first shot.

I usually don't resort to violence, but this cop deserves what he gets IMHO.

It's cops like these two who I could not care any less when they get shot themselves. Mark my words you policemen out there. Either start policing your own or the citizenry will start doing it for you. Mob rule style. Just something to think about.

I'm not threatening in any way, shape or form. Just for you spooks out there who want to kick in my door now.

From what I have researched, the officers involved are not being punsihed, though the local aspca has made a huge complaint.

LAGRANGE, Mo. -- A video showing LaGrange police officers shooting a dog is creating an Internet sensation and drawing the ire of some city residents.

City residents said the owner of the dog, Marcus Mays, was ticketed for not keeping it on a leash or in a pen. The LaGrange city clerk confirmed Mays has a city court appearance for the city ticket today in LaGrange.

The nearly 10-minute video, shot from a camera apparently located inside a police vehicle, is posted on YouTube and shows the dog standing in front of a mobile home, tied to the home with a chain or rope. The dog, which appears to be a bulldog, does not offer any resistance and allows an officer to put a leash on it.

CALL THE POLICE DEPARTMENT and demand to know what disciplinary actions if any were taken against this officer.

Bombard their phone lines!

Yes this is my 3rd comment. I'm so upset and I called.

What punk sissy cops, lazy punk sissy cops, shows they don't ever know their job.
In Detroit, a pit is illegal, and they just shoot them, not like these sissy punks, can't even do their job, they should be fired.
What city is this I'm going to write the Chief, see if he will fire these punks.

NO and she said she could not discuss the matter with me. BUT I gave the lady and ear full. She said she was answering 911 calls (dont know why I called the non emergency number)

Anyway I told her I hoped they were recording this call and then I lost it.

I told her I understand she's just doing her job but I wanted my call played for whoever is in charge. I told her the guilty officer was nothing more than a piece of human waste and should be ashamed to represent good officers who do their job with integrity.

I told her to tell that officer I dare him to come to Memphis and try to shoot my dog. I told her I am a licensed gun owner and a law abiding citizen who has never even had a speeding ticket BUT if he wants to meet in person at my home I'd be happy to show him what a good shot I am.

We all know if you have no empathy for animals, that you will treat humans just as bad. A dog that was doing nothing, and the police did this, nice people you have in the police lol.
