Wow, there are some killer topics in this challenge. My best wishes to all the participants. I am very anxious to see all your arguments. Good luck!

Wow! I have got to say there are some great debate subjects this time around, I'm really looking forward to some of these. Good luck everyone and let the heads role.

Wow, I did not expect to be able to take such a stance on my topic! I really do feel that parenting is more of a privilege, if you beat your children you shouldn't have children, so my argument is that people who are made properly and raise their children properly do have the right.. bwah, written to many hours ago for me to even remember.

Yay, debate!

I'm relieved that I didn't enter. The 'Can money bring you happiness' one is a real bastard. However LC is handling it as a true pixy padawan should
.

Some of these debaters look pretty strong. Agent47 must be taking Roid 9000. I have an eyeball on the outcome of StrangeLands vs. PurdueNuc. My other eyeball is occupied watching Ycon and intrepid duel it out.

Man I really hope I make it past round 1 this time

It seems like a lot of people failed to notice the 500 word limit on opening/closings. Agent47 ran 649 words, and PurdueNuc ran 715..

*shhhuussssshhh*
Actually did it say that? Let me go look. Nope:

"No post will be longer than 800 words and in the case of the closing statement no longer than 500 words"

Opening are under 800. Whew

stop Pisky, you're making me go red...

I wish all my fellow contestants good luck, especially Gryffen, you go girly! And Agent47, my ATS partner, go hunny!

P.S - opening's are up to 800, not 500, that's just the closing.

ktpr beat me to it!

Ah crum! There's so much more I could have said with 300 extra words...

I seriously spent 45 minutes rearranging sentences and verbs to get below 500. Actually, to use exactly 500. It went something like:

708>403>526>448>501>370>600>490>506>502>500

Yes..

It's 4:43 AM, and I'm dramatically bored.

Oops one line answer...

Anyhoo, I really think that...um, yeah, S.Os new uniform really rocks doesn't it?

Well, the closing statements are in on my debate with PurdueNuc. I'd like to applaud him for a fairly fought and excellently argued round one battle! If you win, PurdueNuc, I fully expect you to go all the way to the final - and if I win, then even the mighty John Bull himself will hold no fear for this fire-hardened warrior.

So..... uh.....

Any of you experienced debaters have advice for a newbie who can't sit still while waiting for the judge's decision?

That battle was truly exceptional, StrangeLands. It is I who should be applauding you - your eloquent writing combined with your excellent arguments make you a fearsome foe. I'm sure John Bull is quaking in his boots after having observed our bout. Good luck to you in your future conquests!

And to the future opponents (well, of one of us), who are sure to be reading this: haha, we finished first!
(This WAS a race, wasn't it?)

I am about two days late and a dollar short, but I still would like to thank everyone who entered. I look forward to seeing the tournament evolve whether or not I am still a part of it.

Good Luck everyone, especially those board buddies and partners of mine.

Now I have to go take my roi.......errr I mean protein shakes...

Would you recommend it just in this particular situation, or is porn a comfort throughout life? Also, I might need some help working out the correct dosage...

Now all I need is something that won't get me into trouble with my girlfriend!

I just wanted to extend a congratulations to StrangeLands and PurdueNuc. Whatever the outcome I remain impressed by these two. Of course, everyone else is doing well.
