Beautifully put, Moose. Being a professional musician myself (an "outsider" in our society - and gladly, considering the masses!), I see this judgment ("lazy musician" or "bum musician".) often. I, unfortunately, have seen my entire life the jealousy and anger that comes from others who haven't found such an outlet for their spiritual and creative expression. There is a REAL BEAUTY in working for one's self, doing something that one absolutely LOVES - and there is also an awful lot of responsibility. Music alone takes up most of my time, and I also run my own jewellery business!

Music, like Love, is one of those things that, without it, our society would be barren and lonely. Music has changed people's lives and made people experience feelings that nothing else could provide them! While I agree somewhat that it is unfair for artists and musicians to get a "free ride", I also disagree with this because we ALL should be following our Hearts and our True Destiny! Especially considering the slavery and lack of independent thought connected to the nine-to-five, nose-to-the-grindstone, tax-payer kind of life with which so many of us have been mind-controlled.

I don't do drugs & don't beat up women, so the answer is "Not me for one"

As a professional musician (and songwriter and author.), I totally take offense to this, as I've never even tried a drug (or smoked.) and have always been completely against it. I, also, am a woman and don't condone or agree with violence.

So, yet again, these are just misconceptions about what musicians and writers are - we come in all shapes, sizes, colours, and backgrounds! Just as no two accountants may have the same outlook or physical traits, musicians/writers/artists also can be quite different from each other. Stereotyping is such a sad mind-control tactic.

I hope you're all doing wonderfully, and I send you all Peace, Unity, Love, and Light.

(CNSNews.com) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said this week that thanks to the new health-care reform law musicians and other creative types could quit their jobs and focus on developing their talents because the taxpayers would fund their health care coverage.

“We see it as an entrepreneurial bill,” Pelosi said, “a bill that says to someone, if you want to be creative and be a musician or whatever, you can leave your work, focus on your talent, your skill, your passion, your aspirations because you will have health care.”
