www.mixxbuzzers.com...

This is the only source I can find so far.

This is not good if true.

We might see a lot bigger problems than just air travel interruptions.

Here is the webcam, it is night over there, but it looks like maybe some ash coming out.

www.ruv.is...

This info is from some blog, and it even has the wrong date on it.

I don't know if it is accurate.

My crappy netbook won't play the webcam!

I can't seem to find any other info on this but i'll keep looking.

I still haven't been able to find any other sources, reliable or not.

This may be a failure.

Sorry if it is.

the caption in the bottom left of the camera says "Eyjafjallajokull"

are you sure this camera is pointed at Katla?

I predicted this would happen. But then again it could be another hoax. But i doubt it, seems real enough. S And F for another great find brother.

After what happened with the LAST false alarm, I think we need to be very cautious about this.

Especially with this volcano.

We need to have the posters with the knowledge and links to the seismic activity to chime in with their opinions. A blog is nothing to go by and the camera is too dark to see anyting. At this point, I will rely only on the experts!!!

I can't tell from the webcam. It appears to be night, and there is very little detail to be seen. There is some blurry stuff around what might be the volcano, but I can't tell if it's smoke or just clouds.

Historically, according to the information katla has gone up after each of the last 3 Skull eruptions. So this is not beyond the realms of possibilty.

Although that blog entry COULD just be in reaction to the false alarm the other day.

More investigation necessary!

Correct. It would not be a suprise at all if it were to errupt, but extremely unfortunate for pretty much the whole world.

Having said that, it would be very unfortunate to throw up an alarm incorrectly. Cry wolf too many times, and perhaps when the time comes that it DOES happen, not as many will be listening.

I say again, we need to be cautious. There needs to be some PROOF that it has happened. I don't mean searching the internet for twitter and facebook blogs, or even news articles written by people getting their information from US.

It needs to be GEOLOGICAL proof. If/when it errupts, that is the only thing (other than CLEAR visual) that can prove it. Does anyone have that right now?

Hard to tell whats going on in that webcam.

Here is the link to the Hekla cam. Try and compare the two images. Hekla looks more clear, but imo, it is too hard to tell much of a difference.

Those are the latest Earth Quakes in Iceland < 48 hours

I have no clue if any of those are near Katla but I thought it may help.

Here is a map of the iceland volcanos and a map of recent quakes. You can see that the only recent events are at Eyjafjallajokull, NOT katla!!

What the heck is it with these eruption hoaxes lately?

I guess Eyjafjallajokull has excited so many that they are anticipating the others.
