Halak who?

Max Lapierre will take a lot of heat tonight for 2 diving penalties. The first of which completely deserved! But a justified one in my opinion considering the circumstances. I thought it was a valid hockey play, if there ever was one for a dive. And the second one was a fairly subjective call. I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility for a player to be suspended for two diving penalties in one game. Especially considering we had another diving penalty in the game as well. Laps played a great game other than that one minor penalty and he was one of the hardest workers on the ice.

I've always been a Price guy. Habs fans have been divided for two years between Price & Halak. Even though I still love Carey Price, tonight was a turning point for many Habs fans with their goaltending choice.

Tonight was remarkable.

This will be a great game 7. Who would have predicted this series would go 7?

Series like this one are what makes the NHL playoffs so great. A team that finished 33 points behind the other and have a damn good chance of advancing to the 2nd round.

The game starts in a few hours!!!

In the beginning of the playoffs I wouldn't have guessed this series going to game 7.
I am going to make the first ever prediction on ats(bts) that actually comes true.

I am looking into my crystal ball and I see the winner wearing a jersey with red and white in it.

I just experienced a time-line shift. I think it is 1993.

Never count out the Habs in the playoffs. Gretzky knew this.

Wow, what a game. Going into the 3rd I started getting a bad feeling for the Caps. They threw everything they had at Halak but no dice.

I bet the NHL front office is fuming this morning because they just lost their biggest chance at a huge ratings boost since most non hockey fans think Crosby and Ovechkin make up the entire NHL

Now lets see if the Habs can be Penguin killers next...

So in the 1st round I went 5 of 8 (not counting the amount of games which I failed miserably)

Conference Semi-Finals

Pittsburgh vs Montreal - Pittsburgh in 6

Boston vs Philadelphia - Philly in 7

San Jose vs Detroit - Detroit in 6

Chicago vs Vancouver - Chicago in 6

Losing Markov could be the end of the Habs this season.

I was confident in the Habs all along. Even down 3-1 to the Caps, I remained confident that we could do it. But losing Markov in game one really causes me concern. The score in game one doesn't give the game justice. Montreal played very well in this game, minus our shoddy penalty kill. Hopefully we can rally around him but the stats don't lie and that we are a different team without Markov.

The bright side is we're really going to see what PK Subban can do in playoff pressure. He's looking great so far, reminding me of Big Larry rushing with the puck like that. Going forward he's going to be a good one.

I like the Canadiens' chances. I want to see MTL in the Conference Final against either BOS or PHI. It would be classic.
