In the article it says:

"He captured the animal on two frames of film on May 20, using a motion-sensing camera that his wife gave him for Christmas."

"In one frame, the animal was photographed from the front as it approached. The second frame caught a side view of the animal facing the camera."

"Kurdian called Guy Lichty, a curator of mammals at the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro. But Lichty couldn't help based on just the description. So, as soon as he got his film developed, he couldn't wait to show it to Lichty. But Lichty and other curators were still unable to conclusively identify the animal."

This would seem to me that a film camera was used because he couldn't wait to get the film developed. I dont think this is a computer generated image. It sounds from the article that the zoo curators saw the original photos and not a digital reproduction.

Also, does anyone have a link to the second picture? I would like to see it too.

Texas,

Yeah, I read that in the article as well. But you can get digital prints,
even at the grocery store. Unless I was there when the photo was taken,
and followed the film to the store, AND saw the negative etc.. etc..,
I'd have some doubt.

Just an FYI, I still have not recieved a reply from the reporter that wrote the story.

Just FYI. Today Rense.com posted the link on their site to the article.

Come on Jeff , catch up. I thought ATS people used your site as reference to stories. It would now appear to be the opposite.

I just found it cool that we got the jump on Rense for once.

Here is a comment about it on the Rense site.

www.rense.com...

A Dingo huh? Hmm, I'm not so sure.

Me tinks Jeff Rense sould be invited to join our group.

D-I-N-G-O
And Dingo was his name-o!

NOT..

That is no Dingo face. The tail might be the right size.
I know there are great variations in the Look of a Dingo.
I'm not convinced..Frankly I'm not sure what would convince me now,
I'm in too deep!

Heh, I actually waited a day or two before posting the link from when I found it; cause I figured it'd be here already. But the guy who posted the link at the other place I visit, lives in the area, so probably has checked that site for just regular news.

All I'm saying is that I think Rense has a spy in here. At least he could give ATS some props on his site if it's true.

Hmm, to be honest I would have thought it was a fake but that really just makes it more interesting. Very strange.

Might be fake, it might not. Although the shadow looks very weird. I think it's photoshopped, but there are probably spieces like it.

This pic has been extensivly discussed at cryptozoology.com. Officials in N. Carolina now say it is probably a female grey fox recovering from mange, hence the short fur. A comparative photo analysis shows the body is indeed a fox's when compared to other pics of foxes with mange. It is impressive how much the fur changes our idea of the shape of an animal- kinda like what happens to a cat when they get wet....

I just went back to the original newspaper website, linked at the
beginning of this thread. They have their own discussion going on
about this critter.

Check the yellow Box, just under the animals pic..
I think we are ahead of them on theories!

Yeah, it looks like a fox with Sarcoptes Scabiei mange problem. Damn mites...Heck, why don't they throw Lyme in there.
