Ok. I'm on the verge of reporting you, which will be the first time I've reported anyone on ATS

You accuse me of being a LIAR ---- for asking questions ?

You really need to take a break and rethink your attitudes

Kindly READ my post

then an apology is in order

Thats when you know you have them on the ropes dock9. When they have to resort to " liar liar pants on fire " then they are out of ideas. Basically they have their fingers in their ears at that point chanting la la la la cant hear you la la la la...

Whatever the U.S. govt says the program will cost, triple it. Then compare it to other govt run programs like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the post office, cash for clunkers, anything you can think of. Then add on to that we already have the largest national debt in history, highest unemployment rate in 30 years, and a myriad of other problems. Yep, we're screwed.

The bill sets up a regulatory path for generic versions of expensive biologic drugs, Amgen (AMGN.O) and Roche's (ROG.VX) Genentech unit and other biological drugmakers won a 12-year period of exclusive sales for brand-name drugs before facing competition from generic rivals.

Also the bill includes a 75-percent discount on generic drugs in Medicare, the same as on brand-name drugs. Companies were concerned that closing the Medicare "doughnut hole" would turn people away from cheaper, generic medicines.

I'm not an American nor do I live in the US

Many of us who are not American have been attempting to understand this situation and the reason for the anger

I have been asking basically the same or related questions in most of the threads dealing with the health controversy

and I asked questions in THIS thread

All through the various threads I've been reading

THERE YOU HAVE BEEN --- working as if you're being paid to do it

I have NOT asked YOU any questions !

I have NOT posted directly to YOU !

Yet slavering at the jaws like a mad dog, you leapt upon my innocuous post and accused me of being a liar

Then, when you realised how you'd exposed yourself, you've tried to save face with your ridiculous comments

You're a small person who cannot and will not admit you are WRONG to attack people who come to ATS to ask questions

and you've exposed yourself and your agenda for all to see

Now --- kindly get out of my face so I can continue trying to gain answers to my very reasonable questions

I kinda thought you guys where on two dif subjects at first? And np, just some routers quotes on it.

Fine let me answer your questions...

How will the new health system affect the average person ?

The average person with health care insurance it will not affect at all.

Will you be able to dump insurance now and simply pay the government levy ?

Yes.

Will it end up costing people roughly the same as they were paying in insurance anyway ?

Most of middle class America, it will end up costing LESS for Health Care Insurance than it does now.

Why are some people so angry ?

Because Obama proposed it.

Is it because some people weren't paying anything at all before and now they'll be compelled to pay a percentage of their earnings ?

It's because now everyone is going to have health care coverage. Some don't like that idea.

Is it because they resent the fact illegals and welfare recipients will receive the same medical care as those who're paying a percentage of their earnings ?

This is what pissed me off about your post.

illegals are not going to be covered.

Wow ... you're right. This is going out of control

Those of us not resident of the US are treading on egg-shells over this issue, because the rage is palpable

But no matter how hard you try to stay beyond the rage

seems the rage will find you, if you dare to enter threads about health on ATS at the moment

Maybe those of us from outside the US should avoid this forum for the duration (which probably isn't what the owners of ATS would like to happen, but hell ... how much abuse for the sake of it are non-americans supposed to absorb)

I mean, I even put at the bottom of my post that I didn't want to get into the political fray about it ... was just seeking a few answers

Good to see you're keeping a sense of humour about it anyway

The sad thing about this post is the fact that for me and to many here it's not about what bush and cheney did or anything like that, you my friend is just using that as a crutch just like the democrats. But the truth is the simple fact that socializing American in any way is completely against the constitution and what our fore fathers have paved for us. Now we are having a health care system that mirrors Canada's.

LOL the OP is right, why doesn't everyone just move to canada where theres free health care and stop whining about these retarded bills, whining isn't going to do anything if the special interest groups keep influencing all the votes, it just makes them laugh and fills our inboxs with annoying headlines...

Well i think people outside the US with a good perspective on government run healthcare need to help out by letting people know exactly what were in for if we go that route. Its just crazy to me that despite all the evidence overseas that show socialized healthcare is a nightmare people still want it here at any cost.

We can complain, throw blame, bemoan partisanship, tout our intellectual superiority and common sense, and vitriolic rhetoric until the cows come home, friends.

The truth is, no one is correct. And no one will be correct until we discover who is truly holding all the cards in this scenario.

Until then, friends, why don't we do what we do best and research, find holes in logic, discover abuses, etc; maybe someday we can truly bring the ulterior motives to light. Til then, my friends, stay skeptical

Ya, that's pretty much me. You are nothing but putty in their propagandists hands bud. You need to exercise a little more independent thought and do some homework about socialized healthcare systems.

Oh, ok

I'd assumed they would be, based on statements made by some posters and because some people have said that this (health care for illegals) is what riled them about the new health bill

But if illegals aren't covered, then they aren't

Out of curiosity, where do illegals obtain health care, do you know ? Do they go to the emergency dept. of general hospitals or do they pay cash at medical centres, for instance ? I'm speaking now mainly of maternity and emergency cases, because they wouldn't have the time or opportunity to return to their own country in such instances, nor surely, would they be left to give birth or die on the footpath

It's simply not their jobs or responsibility to take care of us, that would just make us dependent on them. The problem is the government is suppose to work for us, not make choices for us. That aren't watching us grow, but they are now beginning to force us to live the way they say we should.

I'm glad it passed. It's not perfect, it has issues, and it doesn't take effect until 2014, so there's time to work it out. I love all this anger, doom and gloom, though. people are really revealing themselves, the masks have come off now. This man, barack obama, whether you believe him to be a foreign national, CIA manchurian candidate, socialist, muslim, NWO shill, whatever, actually did something to help people. millions more people will be insured that are not insured now. And some of you want to kill him for it. It really is disgusting..well, tell ya what. for those of you who don't want this, don't participate. that simple. when your ass needs an operation, go to mexico. I hear their healthcare is outstanding

Illegals go to the emergency room, get patched up and never pay. That is healthcare for illegals. For the uninsured, it's the same thing but we get it on our credit report. But to the GOP we should just die.
