Very true. It won't be long till Obama is taken care of by TPTB and we are all set into place like pawns once again. :shk:

It doesn't matter. They will do what they want, you will continue complaining, and nothing will change. I've resolved myself to just dealing with what comes down the pike, it's all a sane person can do.

Trials and tribulations have been, are, and will be part of the history of this country, and every other one that's ever been, is, or ever will be...

Not a totally unexpected happening, really...

As with most successful countries that undergo challenges, someone usually steps up and show the way...

In the case of the United States, men and women; with names like George Washington, Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, jr., and many more, known to history and many, many more who aren't, and never will be..., stepped up when the country needed them. Leading with not only word, but deed.

Some one, or rather, some ones; will this time, too... I will, you will, our neighbors will... Because to do otherwise will be to lose it all. Oh, I'm not saying the United States will die...it just won't be the one I grew up in...

That's our choice. Step up when our country needs us, and do what we can; or sit back, and let the dust of history bury us. For good, or for ill, it's our turn. In every generation, a time comes when we need to step up to the plate, and take our hacks...

This whole thing is so tragic it's hard to watch.

A great many greedy and selfish people stand to lose quite a bit from healthcare reform in the US, and they've called in all their favors and used the best psychological tricks they can devise to make the average citizen side with them. US citizens already have it worse than people living in any other 1st world nation, and they've got you brainwashed into not only thinking it's still the best nation on Earth, but actually working towards stopping any changes that would bring you closer to what civilians in every other 1st world country enjoy.

I hope it goes through, but i doubt it will considering how ignorant and easily manipulated so many of you appear to be. It's never been clearer how powerful the corporate media is over the hearts and minds of American citizens.

Ho boy so if i take your words U.S.A. invented anything ? Without you the world is nothing ? ... that's is exactly why the WORLD hate you ! It a shame to have neighborhood like this. Have you ever think that before America the Human race was moving foward.. it's not the U.S.A. that done it all.

Yeah america was a great place to live, but now we got only a fake democracy. Exemple take our parliament here in Canada... We still use the old English system. So if you can elect a guy from a party you cant elect the ones who will be Minister or Prime minister. That form of democracy look more like a "Dictatorial democracy"

Regardless of whether or not this bill passes, things have already changed in the eyes and souls of the people. Those who have been corrupted in congress have been identified and will be replaced in Nov. Those who think that they have avoided detection will be fooled when they are up for reelection. They too will be replaced.

Things have changed People! Forever! When the information is released in proof, just how few people are calling the shots in DC, they will be relieved of their duties, so to speak.

Obama spoke of change, well, change is coming and it may not be what he had in mind.

We The People are already in the process of taking this country back and We The People will never fall asleep at the helm again!

To We The People, Do your duty and know what your duties are, choose
not and you will lose the life as you know it.

S&F...Good post!

I will only add these few thoughts. The US has been slipping into demise for over 50 years. Instrumentalism has worked well for TPTB to bring about where we now find ourselves, without raising much of a fuss amongst the masses.

In the last two years what we have seen is the greatest transfer of wealth in history. Trillions of dollars has been transferred from the working class to the elite class. This has been done guised as bailouts and stimulus. What reality shows is that the 401k’s and other retirement funds have been raided and given to rich off-shore owned banksters as free funds with no accounting necessary
.
The late George Carlin in one of his final appearances told it better than anyone else could have. I have linked to his rant about “The Owners of this Country”. (A word of caution: This clip has some typical Carlin foul-language):

Gwydion...you are using the division of health care to try to garner support for your cause. You failed to even talk about how the health care bill is wrong or unconstitutional. Because you know that it doesn't matter...you know that PROPAGANDA doesn't need to be truthful.

You are just as bad as those you are supposedly against.

This is just more drama and delusions of grandeur...revolution is not a gurantee. The margin of people that support/oppose this health care bill is around 8%...if you trust national polls. The margin is even smaller or not existent if you ask if they oppose this because of no public option. It is even smaller or reversed if you ask if congress should pass this bill or do nothing.

YOU have been the victim of propaganda and lies....not the other way around.

People are afraid of losing their excess. People are afraid of losing their material possessions. Whether you like it or not, our minds are focused and built around little slips of green paper, nearly everything we do in life is to maintain those little slips of green.

Money and material has become the bane of society and now, for fear of losing your wealth

Isn't that the capitalistic American dream??? Are you turning socialist??? Because this sounds like socialist rhetoric...of course twisted and concealed to fit your cause.

So what are you for...people working hard for those little slips of green paper? Or are you for the "greater good"???

Just know that all over the country, millions - yes MILLIONS are waking up.

On both sides my friend...don't act like you have more support than you do. For every crazy revolutionary on here...I see at least one, sometimes 2-3 oppose them.

The Tea Party marchers on Washington represent the average Americans. You can choose to believe the mass media that they are all "racist republicans" or you can believe the truth that they are average Americans fighting for a better tomorrow.

Very average Americans...not a revolutionary fighting force. Old ladies and overweight men...not to mention almost entirely white. On second thought...no...not average americans at all. An "average" American group would have some diversity in that group. Are you going to deny that they are not almost entierly white?

Do not consider this a prophecy, do not consider it an inkling, consider this cold, hard, fact.

There will be revolution in this country within the next two years.

More and more delusions of grandeur...we get it...you want to be part of something "big". Don't worry...you are young and it will pass. It is a built in instinct and desire...that is why it is easy to get young kids to sign up for the military.

The voices of the people have been ignored and spat upon

Prove it...I show quite easily in my thread that this bill isn't overwhelmingly opposed...they can't even get a simply majority against it. Add in those opposed because no public option or single payer...and you have a way different picture then you are attempting to paint.

Is the Health Care Reform Bill really overwhelmingly opposed by the American Public???

We are not an ignorant and stupid people. We are capable of running ourselves. If they choose to ignore that fact then soon, it will be shouted from rooftops. It will be yelled with every gunshot fired.

So your logic is that if you don't get your way...start shooting people...to hell with the CONSTITUTION. Because despite all your propaganda...you and others have failed to show that anything about this bill is unconstitutional.

Do you side with the health care bill and accept it "for the greater good" regardless of its limitations on the individual and our rights?

-or-

Do you denounce such things in the name of liberty and our Constitution, for an ACTUAL greater good come tomorrow?

I support health care reform...because I actually care about my fellow countrymen. I would like to see them all to be able to be treated if they get sick. You seem to just want to kill your fellow countrymen.

If healthcare passes, the only thing that will end is the secret health insurance fraud carried out by doctors and insurance companies all over the globe.

You know, the insurance fraud where the doctor tells you that you need all these tests done to see if you have something, but in reality the doctor was lying to you in order to milk you and your health insurance company, and make you pay for all the unneeded tests. Then, that raises health care costs and makes it near impossible for elderly retired people to afford ANYTHING to do with health care.

If everyone gets healthcare, then the people who have been using the emergency room with fake names to get free care will end. This too will lessen the amount of cost that is passed down to us, and the insurance companies. It will also reduce healthcare cost.

Sure, it will tank a bunch of insurance companies, but only the ones who stay alive using health insurance fraud carried about by their sponsored doctors.

You already know my answer.

I'm about to get controversial.

There here, this statement and what it alludes to is America's greatest problem. The belief that the individual, and the individual's right is more important than the whole is what drives the essence of corruption. Do you really think that your so called "liberty" and "individual freedom" is what is going to make everything work together so nicely?

Don't you see? America started off with these things called "freedom" and "liberty" and now look where it brought you. These corporations, these selfish people, driven by the same motives as the individual albeit with more power than the individual but still using the same rules, corrupted a once great nation.

Continue to cry for individuality and you won't see change. You'll see more of the same.

The greater good is caring for the entire population, social and economic well being for all, rights for all, but most importantly, consideration and care for all. Individualism does not promote this. And that is what is America, and the rest of the world's problem is.

Oh, the DRAMA!

Two-year -olds who don't get their way also think the world is ending and that everything revolves around one decision as they throw a tantrum, screaming and kicking.

This is not the end of anything. This is change. It happens ALL the time. This country progresses and changes ALL the time - and has throughout its colorful history. It always bounces back and goes on, better than before. I've been around over 50 years and this is how it works.

Take a deep breath. Observe the changes instead of resisting them and move on. It's not the cataclysmic event you think it is. This is NOTHING compared to some of the events in this country's history!

Let's face it. We're all tired of this health care reform debate. We know what's at stake -- an eventual complete government takeover of our health care system.

We know that the various health care reform bill price tags of just below one trillion dollars are all deceptive. Government health care programs always end up costing much more than initially advertised. And, as for the ten-year CBO estimates, the system is being gamed by starting the taxes immediately and phasing in the benefits later in the ten year period, not to mention separating the Medicare doctor payment fix (hundreds of billions of dollars in new costs) from the main health care reform bills.

Let's call it what it is: socialized medicine. And, it's not just the Democrats. Many Republicans are itching to give us socialized medicine-lite.

In light of the horrible fiscal situation our nation is in, it is utterly fiscally irresponsible to vote yes for one of these trillion dollar health care reform bills, such as the 2308-page H.R. 3590, and the Reconciliation Bill which is currently being considered by the House.

Furthermore, in light of the rampant congressional disregard for constitutional restraints on the federal government, it is utterly irresponsible to vote yes on one of these bills, which would establish a huge, new unconstitutional activity of the federal government.

Bottom line, whether H.R. 3590 passes or not, how each congressman votes on it will be a top issue in the congressional election campaign of 2010. Hopefully you have let your congressman know what impact his vote on H.R. 3590 will have on your participation in the campaign of 2010. This is ultimately the only leverage you have on your congressman. Use it!

Not to mention get on C-span Now The House is in Order &....The representatives are about to commence, History will be made today in one way or another.

I pray for it to not pass...damn,,,this has been on my mind for months, weeks and thesse past few days..So much so I have a headache right now.It is time to see the future unfold, and to see if we really do have an opinion anymore.
Or to see the debt our me,and every other taxpayer will have to chuck up. what will face the children, born and unborn children of the new will have to face.

There are not enough letters on my keyboard to express my utter disagreement with OP.

Currently, in this country, a common criminal has access to better healthcare than the average citizen. When arrested, the perp gets a free court appointed lawyer while thrown in the pokey. While there, should he become ill, he would receive medical care. Should he be convicted, he will receive 3 square meals a day and get his medical, dental and spiritual needs met.

Today IS NOT the end of America, it is the first day of the rest of our lives.

On a personal note, I suffered a stroke 2 years ago and have been unable to procure
reasonable medical coverage due to my "pre-existing condition." Hopefully soon, I can finally shop around. Also, I am a small business owner and welcome the opportunity to provide for my albeit small staff.

Let's face it, those adamantly opposed to this bill simply don't want to see President Obama get one in the win column.

"It is better to light a candle, than curse the darkness."

Long live America.

Are you afraid that instead of eating out one night you might have to sit at home and make a home cooked meal for you and your family?

I think more than anything it's the welfare of their families they worry about. Most seem to think that if they sit back and support the government in all of their endeavors that they will at least be able to feed their families. Were they to uprise against the government, it wold be a sure bet that their children would starve and possibly be murdered, or at the very least, hurt. Once a country has started a revolution, there must first come anarchy before a new government is established. People today have to ask themselves one question. DO I become a martyr for future generations and sacrifice all.....including my children, in the war or do I bow down to a government who I have bowed down to since my birth and just hope they don't become too tyranical in my lifetime. Most choose the latter because we are already used to it and have been trained for subservience. That is why people are scared to do anything. It's not themselves they worry about. Most of us have children we are not so eager to sacrifice in a war against government military who are trained to kill you and your children upon command.

I've shied away from the health care debate. There was too much propaganda going around and I just kept hearing left vs right clashes. That stuff really tunes me out.

What I am fairly certain of is that the U.S. is on an unsustainable course, and our time will come. I stated to my friends and family numerous times back in 2006 that the U.S. wouldn't last another decade. I still stand by this statement. From my understanding, we're on track for hyperinflation in just a few years. Many are tracking this in the 2013-2015 range. Once it becomes a bit out of control, it'll only be 24 months tops before we collapse. That's about right then, 2016-2017 tops.

Nobody has a clue what will replace the U.S. I don't know if different countries will claim regions based on what we owe them, or if we just break up into several republics. I'm no longer thinking anarchy is necessary. We've got state and local governments. They can do just fine if the federal government collapses. Sure, the transition may be rough, but we'll make it through.

No more doom and gloom from me. I'm just using what foresight I have to invest outside of stocks and fiat currencies. The wise will do very well from this transition, as always.

I think this is the start of the election season of '10. If this passes I strongly request that you ask one simple question of your candidates in the upcoming election. "Are you for or against the removal of the recent health-care overhaul law?" If they waver even in the slightest, DO NOT VOTE FOR THEM! We need people with conviction! Once this election is over with Obama will not have a crumb of support and we can begin to undo all the damage. The left regrets him, the right is powerless to stop him and the middle doesn't have the guts to do anything about him. Time is running out. If this bill gets turned into law, it will creep into the system in such a way that in a couple years it will be impossible to remove. It will become ingrained into the fabric of society and the people will begin to rely on it, depend on it . Just like Social Security. We all know how hard it is to even bring that up for discussion. The same goes for Medicare. We do not need another Govt. system to depend on! We need more freedom to allow us to choose. Let me use a HSA, let me buy from another state, eliminate frivolous lawsuits and remove mandates on people! Look for people of conviction and honesty. Elect the right people, not the most experienced!

I'm French and our government created the Health Care program after the war, when people were too busy rebuilding the stuff destroyed by the Germans and their enemies.

Now, we are facing an ever-growing Health debt, and the constant growth of medical costs and the increasing use of private medics and hospitals have created a huge debt. I mean HUGE. Every government we had, from Socialists to Conservatives, is too afraid of cutting through budgets and they are too afraid to cut the health system costs, whuich would seriously affect the weel-being of old people, which are growing in numbers. A politician keeps that in mind...

If you Americans set tough limits to the Health Care system it would help low-wage people getting decent health coverage AND it would create a manageable debt. I mean, don't make the mistake that we French did , saying that we cover gfor almost 90% of every health-related spending.

my 2c.
One last thing, those stupid Revolution references tend to discredit your voice. You are not fighting the British Crown, but fellow Americans with different points of view. I'd like to read a little more circunspect commentaries instead of the regular " let's torch the white House " comments.
cheers
