I was just reading at ATS and thought of something I had written, that I was told to Mod by a Mod.

So, I was thinking, if someone could not tell what I was saying, without a little ingenuity and perception, I could get away with it. Which brought me to the point of riddles.

I remember in the gunslinger series by Stephen King that at the end of the first set he wrote, he had left us at a point where the train would let them live, if they came up with a riddle that he could not solve.

We are to be that train. Anyone can submit the riddle, and I would like the riddle submitted, to be solved first before the next one is submitted. In case we get multiple submissions, people comment at the same time. Please, try to solve the all the riddles prior to continuing on.

This is meant to be fun and mind challenging. If a riddle becomes too hard to solve the submitter gets to brag they STUMPED ATS. They gets the bragging rights.

There are all kinds of riddles, when submitting, give us the parameters if there are any?

To start it off, I am going to submit two. One that is an oldie but a goody.

1 What has a mouth, but does not speak; a bed, but does not sleep; a bank, but no money?

2 What does this mean? runsane

edit to fix some punctuation and gramma

I don't know what the second one is, but the first one is a river.

I see, the second one is, "Are you Insane!"

Here is a couple of brain benders for ya.

1) What is like dramatic structure, and like a Greek column, but has a thousand eyes, wears a pointed helmet, a necklace of domestic fowl, and never sits down?

2) Everyone knows me, it is rumored that a man once drank his fill of me (much to his regret). Others prefer me in small doses, for small ills. Some describe me as the sky, the land and age a ton, fire, bird, fish, flower, I am captive, I am free. Worshiped and lost, loved and execrate, pure and corrupt, black and white. I am found in the deepest well and on the highest mountain. I am animal, vegetable, mineral. Who am I?

Exactamundo.

Now to clarify my second riddle. Riddles like my second are a symbol type riddle.

Identify what----------runsane-----------stands for.

Like-----u r/hill------stands for You are over the hill.

So---------runsane----------means?

Actually, if a MOD that told me to MOD something I wrote, they would get it right away. I asked someone a question. Kinda like what you do a lot wuk.

I was trying to get a rise.

Well for a joke, you got it right.

I asked someone in a thread, ARE YOU INSANE, and a mod told me to edit it.

So, time for you to come up with a riddle.

Riddle me this.

Here are 2 riddles submitted by wuk, hey, you are supposed to only submit one.

Will wait for Deaf alien to come up with a riddle and during I will be thinking on wuk's.

One of them I have heard. But I cannot place it right now, too much in my p brain.

To the second riddle... I think it's knowledge? You kinda gave away the answer?

Am I right?

That is it.

Actually even if it isn't, it fits.

Riddles can have numerous answers, not just the intended one.

I have seen some riddles with numerous answers, as long as the parameters are met, it is solved.

Yeah, I see so many answers to that riddle. But you are right. The answer has to fit within the parameters.

Did you guys give up? It only has one answer, it is not god, or love, or wisdom, or knowledge.

Sorry, no, it is not life, one clue, it is not an abstract.

That is right endisnighe, it is Gold.

53 BC: The Roman general and consul Marcus Licinius Crassus was reported as having been put to death by the Parthians after losing the battle of Carrhae, by being forced to drink a goblet of molten gold, symbolic of his great wealth.

I know I have heard this riddle so the abstract helped.
Gold, sweet, when you said not abstract, that is when I remembered the black and white gold thing.

As for the first one, hopefully the 1000 eyes are not a zipper.
