Good question and one I couldn't answer. I did read in the report that the marriage proposal was accepted, but that was before this all transpired.
However, it is not uncommon for rape victims to marry their rapists in Islamic countries.

I wonder if her fiancee was Muslim. I also wonder if she is a practicing Muslim, or just born Muslim, but no longer considers herself a Muslim?

From what I understand about the religion, once a Muslim always a Muslim.

Whatever their law states, arresting a woman for reporting that she was raped is plain wrong.
