Lots of cool thread material,to much for 1 man so I thought I'd share.Here are a few;

AD 1548 In Palermo, Sicily, a giant skeleton, reputed to be thirty feet in length, is discovered. AD 1550 In Palermo, Sicily, two more giant skeletons are discovered, one thirty-three feet long, and a smaller one, thirty feet long.

AD 1820 In Circleville, Ohio, an intact iron furnace is discovered containing the remains of a plate and a dagger of unknown age

AD 1838 George Grey, exploring the Australian outback in the area around the Glenelg River, discovers paintings of figures in a cave. These figures are shown wearing tunics and cowls, items which the aborigines do not wear.

AD 1864 At Holly Oak, Delaware, a 5.5 inch piece of whelk shell bearing the distinct carving of a mammoth is found in a peat bog in this town north of Wilmington. Core samples taken of this area indicate an age of between 80,000 and 100,000 years before the present

AD 1912 (04 May) The New York Times reports of a find of gigantic humans made while excavating a mound at Lake Delevan, Wisconsin. According to the news account, eighteen skeletons are found in one large mound at a Lake Lawn farm.

AD 1887 (Jul) In Eureka, Nevada, four men searching for gold come upon a large bone, reportedly human, in the Spring Valley. (Aug) Two children are found in Spain coming from a Spanish cave. They are reported to have slanted eyes, green skin and speak a totally unknown language. One child, a boy, soon dies, but the other, a girl eventually learns Spanish and tells a story about being transported from a country which was always in twilight. Who these children were and where they came from is never determined. The Galveston, Texas Daily News reports the discovery of a wrecked ship of unusual design. Little remains of the description, save that the width of the stern is about fifteen feet, and "is composed of solid oak beams laid crosswise over each other, secured with iron spikes." The ship is believed to be possibly Roman of unknown age.

At Heavener, Atlas Almon Mathis, working in coal mine No.5, two miles north of Heavener, Oklahoma is sent to one of the lower levels, reputed to be almost two miles deep. After blasting an outcropping of coal loose, he came upon several concrete blocks blown loose from the wall. The blocks are 12" cubes, smooth and polished on the outside. When the walls cave in, he discovers a whole section of wall made up of these blocks. About 100 to 150 yards further down the shaft, another miner strikes the same wall, or one very similar. Upon hearing of the discovery, the mining officials pulled the miners out of the wing, and forbade the miners to speak of their discovery. The mine was closed in the fall of 1928, and the crew was sent to Kentucky. There is a rumor of a similar occurrence in mine No.24 in Wilberton, Oklahoma in or about 1926.

I always love forbidden archeology, may I suggest that these findings are tied to what you would find in the Book of Enoch and hinted at in Genesis 6. Although a Christian and student of the Bible, I believe the world is older than 6000 years, and no actual date is given in the Bible. Further, I believe that there were civilizations that predate what is recorded in the Bible, yet, again are hinted at. For instance, if Satan was Satan in the garden of Eden, and he was a fallen angel...Lucifer, that covered the mercy seat of God and rebelled...when did he rebell? There had to be a time before time, and these finds support that idea. A whole lot happend in the "6 days" of creation.

That is very interesting, and a GREAT read.

have you heard about the maps of the ancient sea kings?

nevermind, they are mentioned in 1927, by Piri Reis.

Fascinating anomalies to say the least. The link is appreciated.

i am in the process of reading David Hatcher Childress' "Lost Cities & Ancient Mysteries of the Southwest". I'm pleased to see that the list included on the page for which you provided the link refers to a mysterious find mentioned in Childress' book. This is the 1924 discovery of Roman artifacts in northwest Arizona.

As if finding these Roman relics there wasn't mysterious enough, an engraving of a brontosaurus is clearly depicted on one of the broadswords which was among the artifacts found there. The sword was dated between 560 and 800 AD.

Well basically found some maps (dated 1513) that were drawn by Piri Reis, who used "ancient sources". they proved to be incredibly accurate, with mountain ranges undiscovered until 1952 in Antarctica, and was drawn from bird's eye view. they were also very accurate, down to the mile. the maps were drawn when antarctica was without ice, which would put civilization far older than previously believed. a many thousand years, actually.

interesting, huh?

Great post, I just love reading about things that don't fit into the current model of our history. I't just a shame more credit isn't given to this information.

I followed the link and read the lot, please don't hesitate to start any more threads on related subjects!

Didn't see any mention of it on the list in that original link so I'd thought I'd bring the Rockwall Anomaly near Rockwall, Texas to everyone's attention. Here's a linky with all of the pertinent details...

Rockwall Anomaly

Also, I did not know of those supposed blocks being found in Oklahoma. The sites are so close I might just have to organize a 'field trip' one of these days. Who knows what I may find.

sorry to burst your bubbles on the "giant human" skeleton claims but they were most likely dinosaurs, at those times they wouldnt know much about them.

Yea thats right! Its very easy to confuse human bones with dinosaur bones. That must be it then case solved, and I was just getting used to my bubble.

I remember reading about a shoe print that was found and dated to be thousands of years old but the problem was it was made by a modern day work boot. I have tried to find something on the net about it but as yet have not. Maybe some one else can back me up on this. The past is full of such things that are hidden for us.

Damnit, one step ahead of me.

Seems I am the smaller circle in your avatar.

Don't you think it won't be long before your avtar will have to be inverted for accuracy? After all, it seems the dumber people in our society are more popular and are hailed as sports heros.......

AAARRRGGGHH!!! To add even more credence to above comments, I replied to myself instead of the OP!

It doesnt mean they flew to make them. Cartographers used to be on the coast in ships drawing the coast and other features yet when they were done their maps were drawn from the POV of a bird. It doesnt mean anything, so there is no point saying it. No matter how old the map is.

Thanks for bringing that up. It is very clear that America was mostly explored, and plans were made for it over 1000 years before the dawn of the Christian era. Columbus followed a Templar map, and with the Templar symbols on his sails, I would say the Templars funded the expedition. America was to be the "New Atlantis," and there is a book by that name that lays it all out. Francis Bacon wrote the book.
