Thousands of women appear to be using the internet to share sexual fantasies of abuse involving children.

Users log into online forums to meet other "like-minded" web users and to share personal childhood experiences about sexual acts with adults that they say include mothers, teachers and babysitters. User profiles on one website monitored by the IoS claimed to be those of teachers, doctors and retired grandmothers with an interest in "young girls" and "lesbian incest".

Its about time that females where treated to the same scrutiny than males. I cannot believe sites are allowed to have boards talking about sex with kids, even if they are females doing this.

Any views on this, and just shows there is no real difference between males and females on this issue, of having sex with kids.

This has been going on for years.. but I agree.. there are just as many women pedophiles as men.

The trouble is as sick as it is, as long as they say it's fantasy they can get away with it until they act on it. I bet those sites are being monitored for communication between adults and kids.

We should change the laws to make those sites illegal.

I think those numbers are highly overblown...

Absolute drivel. Women aren't the predators. When they are abused as children they usually end up being abused. These are the stats based on repeatable studies. When I taught at a private school there was a boy there who was 13 and he was having trouble in his family, so one of the main families of the school (they had like 5 kids in the school) had the boy stay at their house. There was a big scandal some time later when it was discovered that the boy was having regular sex with the mother of the family he was staying with!

These things do indeed happen... as sad as it may sound...

No I'm sure that happens ... I just doubt to that extent... I have some experience as a victims advocate and the women I've met who've had these kids of experiences as a child would rather forget then brag.

Ummmmmmm hello! Of course it's happening. Just look at all the female teacher teenage boy scandals that have happened here in the USA over the last 10 years.

The amount of child molestation that goes on in general in 21st century society is truly disgusting and is responsible for a lot of the emotional problems of people both young and adult nowadays. I know lots of people who you NEVER would have thought were molested or sadly raped as a child. Both male and female. Part of child molestation can be mistaken for normal childhood experimentation as far as kids of the same age group, but with adults and people in a position of trust it's completely different.

The amount of child "molestation" that goes on in the 21st century is no more or less than has gone on for the past 5000 years. You simply have the means to hear about it easily thanks to numerous forms of media.

Additionally, in the case of childhood sexuality, we have regressed to nearly victorian levels of conservatism here in the western world. Is it wrong for children to experiment? Of course not! Unless you're an American who's so insecure about their sexuality that they can't admit they procreated to have children, let alone think that its a natural function.

The 21st century is psychosexually damaged, but not due to a sudden unexplainable spike in child molestation.

Sorry guys but theres a difference between pedophilia and having sex with a teenager. Pedophilia is the sexual attraction to pre-pubescent children. Sex with teenagers, on the other hand, while perhaps showing an unhealthy attraction to immature minds, or perhaps too much attraction to innocence, has actually been the norm for human society for all of our history until the last 100 years or so, and indeed still is the norm for much of the world.

I think its a bit of a problem that so many people cant differentiate between a person who sadly is overly taken with naivette and innocence, and a predator. I have many male friends who as children had sex with their babysitters, etc, and most are not victimized by it, they brag about it. I also have female friends who disclosed that they slept with teachers in high school, and the tone of the disclosure was not one of victimization either. I DO work in the psyche field, and so am very familiar with standard trauma behavior and signs.

Not to say that many people are not victimized and traumatized, but that must be judged by the condition of the supposed "victim" not from the act itsself. Some people like a good beating or roughing up during sex, and to some its abuse, same action, two different intents, one is a crime, one is not. It is narrow sighted and cruel to sentence people with no hostile intent such as an adult having sex with another fully physically developed person, or an 18yo having sex with his 16 yo girlfriend consensually, to the same criminal charges as someone who commits violent traumatic rape. Two completely different things, and just as there are levels of murder, and levels of theft, there could perhaps be levels of sex offense.

Why not make this a legal policy; "Don't blame the assaulter, they did it because it happened to them!" And see how that works out.

I'm saying its BS, and a set up from the dark side. The CIA and the black ops and the cults they've formed, to create this. This is from their side, not the human race. They've already done stats and studies on us, and women arent the predators, only like less than one percent would fit into that profile, who have been abused. They tend to partner with those who continue to abuse them instead.
