ATS,

I would like to know if anyone else has had or is having a very high pitched, almost whisper silent of a high pitched *ringing/buzzing* in just ONE ear??? and i'm NOT talking about after you listen to loud music and then after 30 mins or so, have a ringing in BOTH ears!

I'm talking about something very similar but, ONLY in one ear..

Details are as follows:

~Just 1 month ago, after my wife had a silght bout with shingles, she said.."great now I have a buzzing in my ear.. " I replied.. "what do you mean, like both ears right?

Wife: *looking at me solemnly and said..* "No, i have a buzzing in just my left ear...probably from the singles..."

I never thought anything else about it.... till now..

Sitting in the living room and watching Terminator Salvation, paused the movie to take a bathroom break when I heard a very slight, high pitched sound in my right ear. I didn't think anything about it .. and thought it was maybe the sound was up to loud on the TV; which is only 1/3 of max, and never had an issue with this before w/ the sound vs the normal ringing in my ears..

As I stood there in the bathroom, where it was completely silent, i could hear it distinctly as if it was some sort of radio single* (?) So I quickly covered both ears and then listened and the sound grew twice as much since all noise was blocked. It was DEFINITELY in my right ear~!

I was WT*~!!

I walked back into the kitchen and asked my daughter if she heard it and she said 'no'.

I walked into the living room where my wife was and told her and she looked at me again and said.. "I've been having a buzzing sound in my left ear for a month now.."

I told her to cover both ear close her eyes and see if it's still there.. she looked up at me after a min and said .. "yes.. definitely'

Being kinda freaked out, because of some other event in my life from 20 years earlier, so i did a quick search on ATS to see how many hits on ringing in the ear threads there was by chance..

I found 2..

this one .. www.abovetopsecret.com...

...She then checked my pulse, BP, resp, eyes, whacked everything with the little rubber mallet, made me listen to a tuning fork and then put it against my skull - talk about sonic weapons - made the headache and ringing in my ear really bad

Ugh, That's a bit weird, I have been really tired as of late (not at night, but only during the day) i'll get 8 hours of sleep, and I'll wake up, and then i'll be tired in 2 more hours. Also i've been really agitate for the past few days when someone says something I think should be obvious, or just something that gets on my nerves for no reason. My mom has yelled at me twice about being to sensitive (which i put off as teenage hormones, which it may well be) i don't know, I haven't put any stock in this Aug 18th stuff, and at the moment i still don't, but maybe somethings up.

Last night I was woken from half sleep with a weird ringing in my ear that seems to block out all the other noise, I had to leave the room to get it to go away.

ours however is very slight but, distinct .. but doesn't seem to block out all other noise as the poster below described...

...with a weird ringing in my ear that seems to block out all the other noise

Plz, if anyone has any incident like this, plz flag this thread and post your experience .. I'd really like to get to the bottom of this..

If you are not sure if you do or not have a ringing in one ear...go to a quite place in the house, cover BOTH ears at the same time and just listen for about a minute..

Need to check in with an ATS friend on this as well on a working theory I have... to which I haven't pursued it...yet

Really this happens to me time to time.... like you it is also my right ear, all the past times this has happened i just brush it off since it has been happening for a while... but also like you it blocks out all noise ... i had thought about why it happens and i believe ( this may sound a little far-fetched ) it is something to do with Frequency and the earth ... since the all planets have their own Frequency which depends on size, rotation , tilt etc....

It is called tinnitus and there are various causes for it. Some of which something can be done about.

Your wife should visit an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist.

oops. Make that "you should".

Check into this, I get from time to time but I know why I get it. A history of being exposed to very loud noises. Good luck to you.

Growing up I always complained or ringing or sirens in my ears that seem to be the same to what your having now. I didn't listen to very loud music or operate alot of jackhammers as a kid either. It still happens from time to time but not as frequent as when I was little. Still haven't gotten an explanation until now

Sounds like tinnitus.
en.wikipedia.org...

Maybe you suffer also from sensorineural hearing loss. If your hearing ability is affected in the high frequency or very low frequency sounds, you won't be able to percieve the loss, unless you undergo an audiometric test.

What you are describing is tinnitus.

I say that as someone who does hear some things others cannot hear in odd ranges.

Mine do this from time to time. I just hold my finger in my ear for a few moments and it goes away. I would agree with Phage to take yourself to a ear, nose, throat specialist.

When I eat the hearing in my left ear sometimes goes or i hear a ringing noise.

I'm pretty sure it's something to do with my teeth. I have a cracked tooth at the back that needs sorting out. Last time I open a bottle cap with my mouth

a ringing in one ear is often a sign that aliens are present

it has long been either a warning sign- given somehow by the body

or a reponse to some sort of electro magnetic or other phenomena when they are close by

the first questionn to look at is do either of you have abduction experiences in your past

ringing in both ears is something a bit differnet- nothing to do with aliens

but one ear is either us hearing them, or a body warning sign

Happens alot to alot of people

Tinnitus isn't rare. Happens in my right ear from time to time. Honestly I wouldn't concern yourself too much over it unless it is truly disruptive in which case as mentioned above you should see a HEENT doctor (head, ears, eyes, nost and throat)

Good luck!

Once you have checked with professionals that there is no known physical abnormality, you may consider investigating the sound current, unstruck melody, music of the spheres, and so forth, that is taught by most of the eastern mystic schools. This sound current rings endlessly and can be heard by anyone, and especially by those who are trained in the mystic practice to hear it.

There falls the rhythmic beat of life and death:
Rapture wells forth, and all space is radiant with light.
There the Unstruck Music is sounded; it is the music of the love of the three worlds.
There millions of lamps of sun and of moon are burning:
There the drum beats and the lover swings in play.
There love-songs resound, and light rains in showers;
and the worshipper is entranced in the taste of the heavenly nectar.

~ Kabir (14th century Indian mystic)

This type of ringing is also caused by EM radiations, if you or your wife use blue tooth devices and have wi-fi devices in your home, or you are living very near to cell phone towers, then you are likely to be susceptible to many problems.

www.associatedcontent.com...

What are the Effects of EM Radiation?

Some of the smaller symptoms that people get from EM radiation include nausea, vomiting, headache, confusion or a general feeling of 'blah.' You can feel extremely tired due to electromagnetic radiation and can even suffer from memory loss, ringing in the ears and more. Some of the larger or long term effects of electromagnetic radiation can include cataracts, retina damage, eye cancer, skin rash, nerve damage, joint pain, muscle spasms, digestive problems, blood cells which leak hemoglobin and brain tumors.

Bioinitiative report on EM Radiations

www.scribd.com... -2007

People who are chronically exposed to low-level wireless antenna emissions report symptoms
such as: problems in sleeping (insomnia), fatigue, headache, dizziness, grogginess, lack of
concentration, memory problems, ringing in the ears (tinnitus) , problems with balance and
orientation, and difficulty in multi-tasking. - page 20

So, best advice is remove EM radiation fields from your house.

I've had this for many, many years. Sometimes it can be quite loud and nearly block external sounds. Sometimes the right ear has an accompanying drastic pressure change or very much higher-pitched ring, but that is generally fleeting. I thought for years that it was tinnitus, despite no doctor ever having confirmed this in any way. No doctor has ever found anything at all to be wrong with my ears in any way, despite having had middle ear infections (otitis media) in primarily my left ear several years ago that did not respond even slightly to any treatment given.

There may be other reasons for this ringing. It could be ET, it could be lots of things. There are lots of things out there on the spooky planes and I'm very much inclined to experience those things regularly. I just don't happen to have an explanation for this. I don't need one. It is what it is. Accept it, love it, see where it takes you. Things are more fun and magical that way.

I thought I would add too that sometimes I can clearly hear music of virtually any genre, but also some that is 'otherworldly'. Do any of you have that as well?

I have had this happen a lot over the past few years as well in my right ear usually and sometimes it will be in my left ear for a month or so. I went to the ear doctor and they put me in a sound tank ran tests and found the my hearing was perfect and i was ok. What is unusual about it is that it occurs around the same times at night. 9pm 12pm with altering time slot's. I wonder if there is more to it?

This is NOT TINNITUS! I'm a musician and have been to an AC/DC concert and had that for a week afterwards.

What the op is talking about is something I've experienced personally since I was a child - WAY before I surrounded myself with loud acoustic & electric instruments.

It is and has always been very temporary for me and usually lasting slightly less than a minute (rarely but occasionally up to 5 minutes). It usually only happens in one ear. Sometimes it's perceived as loud enough to block out other sounds in that ear. Sometimes it briefly sounds as if a dial on a radio is being tuned in a bit before the full kick of the fixed frequency.

The poo poo'ing away of this phenomenon as ringing Tinnitus is tired and doesn't fit with the symptoms of such.

Wish I could find a better answer.

When i was a teen, i told a girl in a party that my ear was ringing,
to which she replied; "it means that someone is thinking something nice about you."

The best goddamn answer i´ve ever heard.
