Nah its time thing, I pretty much missed the last election here. I was not real happy with McCain so it would not have been that good for me anyway. I doubt I will ever be that active anymore, I dont have the time, I work more hours now to help pay my share of the money Obama/Bush just spent.

This will not happen. Let me give you some history. When Clinton got in, 2 years later he lost the house and Senate. When Bush came in, the republicans GAINED seats until 2006. Obama will loose seats in 2010. That is a guarantee. How many is the question. At this time he does not stand a chance to get a second term, but I said that about Clinton also so I could be wrong. People are mad at what he is doing but as Americans we have a short term memory.

Well I may be very wrong and sort of don't care as much as I use to.

I believe what I do because of the nature of the attacks, the nature of the people who
are offended by the nature of the attacks. With the conservative base it appears to me that substantive issues take a back seat to identity attacks. For what I have observed it appears conservative dynamite is achieved by disqualifying the opponent by painting a picture that said opponent is NOT LIKE the voter base. In the last decade it appears the best way for the GOP to win is by appealing to peoples dislike of various traits, activities, beliefs.

The Bush attack that knocked Mccain out of the primaries - "secret black baby"
the above would pander to many things in the South Carolina base - possible infidelity=
weak christian values + a interracial goings on, makes the mind wander,,, the key is it makes the alternative look better. I think it also appeals to less than admirable traits in
the southern culture - all with purpose.

Then you have John Kerry - this one defied logic, but none the less, you had a guy who actually did serve, decorated for the service and SPOKE OUT AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT - all three things that could arguably been a plus in the eyes of conservatives. In this case they attacked the exact thing that might make Kerry appealing to certain conservative voters. Amazingly enough you actually had a
Draft dodger actively going after the service record of a combat tested hero.
This strategy worked because it was so ridiculous, effectively turning a strength into a political liability.

Now we have Obama - to date the entire arsenal of xenophobic rhetoric has been
launched at him - An Arab, Muslim, born in a place with muslims and tribal sacrifice,
and he is gay, and a black radical, is an Elite ( John Mccain III lol:lol, a socialist, a fascist, a Marxist, he is already black for the few who don't dig such a thing.
But lo and behold, he has survived being labeling the very worst things one could be perceived as in American politics. This has been the most devastating innuendo campaign I have EVER seen. Not to mention it is the type of stuff that gets conservatives fired up; and there he sits - POTUS.

Lets be REAL with ourselves here, the GOP knows how the win by personally attacking the person, or better yet making the alternative more desirable than the opponent. Ala your tulip walker moniker - that is how you win EVERYTIME - you paint the candidate like he is not really an American, hates eagles and likely pees on old glory for fun. The GOP shtick is the school yard bully - I am cool because I assume the dominant persona right out of the gate.

AH, but you guys have used your routine WAY TOO SOON and have ESCALATED what began during the elections. In doing so you have LITERALLY used the entire playbook that has served the GOP so well in the past. Now the entire gag is becoming background noise with every passing day.

I am sorry but I believe the conservative base is motivated less by issue and more by identity. I only see it because I am not IN it, I suggest someone in the GOP needs to recognize the concept of timing and silence soon for your sake. Really has become habitual IMHObservations.

race will turn off moderates who; do not want to eliminate public schools or line the southern boarder with land mines, et-cetera.

Unfortunately the testosterone drinking, hardons are going to demand going to the loser circle with someone who is far to extreme for the people who like the fiscal aspects of the GOP, but not the OTHER STUFF.

Lastly you guys are counting Obama out already, I suggest you guys are confidently arming the weapons of your own demise. The Magic playbook is empty of the stuff that
suits your strengths and you are already trying to over compensate with the penile factor.

If this economy gets better you guys are in trouble in 2012 - 2010 aside.

PS ATS' political boards really represent the same escalation I have mention above,
the boards are now very conservative in nature, do not appreciate anything concrete
and operate on innuendo more than substance. Ignoring contrary information is also a new tool contributing to the idiocy, but saying tulip walker or socialism will get you many stars and flags

Well considering the man can quote the Koran from memory, went to a Masada, came back to the us to establish himself and will not release some records that prove otherwise. I say it is a chance that he is lying about it. If he were a Christian, then he would be consistent with teh views of Christianity and he is not.
