I have verizon
my girl friend just got a text from an acquaintance with 30 text messages from me to an ex girlfreind.(the ex forwarded them to the acquaintance)
I never made those texts
however when I go to my account there they are plain as day(not the text but a history of the calls/texts from me to my ex and back)
how is that possible?I never did it and no one had access to my phone.
could some one clone my phone?or hack into verizon and plant them?
I do have enemy's who would do this just to hurt me.
They have resources and are dirty enough to do it.
please help

Is it possible the text messages could have been sent online (through your Verizon account or something similar?) Someone doesn't need your actual phone to send them, if they had your account info. Just a thought.

Thanks for your reply,
I thought of that but on my account it shows the calls/texts going back and forth between the two numbers

I'd bet on one of those online sites that can send texts.. I've never used one but my friend used to be able to call and text you from other peoples' numbers, or make the number look like whatever he wanted. He was fond of calling me from 000-000-0000

I think you should just tell her what you've done and hope she forgives you. Remember, if you used a condom, it wasn't cheating.

Yes I remember reading about this. What my carrier did to combat this threat was to allow me to setup a password, then every time I wanted to take my phone out of standby to use it I had to enter a password. Then even if somebody clones your phone, if they don't have your secret password they can't use it. So search the database online for your phone carrier and find out how to setup a password, I think that should prevent the hacking, but I'm not an expert, that's just what I read.

I didn't setup a password and I never had a problem but now after reading your story I can see why they're needed.

I can do that but I need to know how it was done in the first place if you know what I mean.I am not in trouble first off because she trusts me second because I was with her when some of these supposedly took place.

that I am not sure about. I would go with the advice above and see about making a password to take the phone out of standby, if that is an option. Sorry to hear about your problem... ex-gfs stirring up trouble can be a real pain..

I see you had 2 threads, thanks for reposting my other comment here.

I also have a link you can read about this:

Cell phones - Hackers Next Target!

According to that, someone hacked Paris Hilton's cell phone!

The fact of someone hacking cell phone became public knowledge when Paris Hilton's cell phone along with her information was recently hacked.

Cloning required access to ESN and MIN pairs. ESN/MIN pairs were discovered in several ways:ESN (Electronic Serial Number) MIN (Mobile Identification Number). three common ways their hacked is
•Sniffing the cellular network
•Trashing cellular companies or cellular resellers
•Hacking cellular companies or cellular resellers
if your phone was indeed hacked your dealing with more than a weekend hobby hacker... your prime suspect would be someone with serious technical training

Thank you,the person I think did this once had 5 private detectives following me(maybe only one agency but 5 actual detectives)

I should add if someone could get their hands on your phone for a couple of hours it would be no big deal to take that to a cell dealer have them dup the sim card drop that into a similar phone ... voila instant clone

That's a scary thought the only way that could happen is if they were in my house. Thanks for your advice.

DaddyBare's right, whoever is doing this has specialist knowledge. Cloning cellphones isn't exactly an amateur hacker's ability. Your enemy must be quite talented. Do you have enemies like this? You say one in particular has used a detective agency, I'd hazard a guess that either the agency has done this, slightly unprofessional, or it's not the same person. Someone who can clone cellphones would not need an agency.

Bon chance.

Sendran.

Edit to add: Did you receive any texts from your ex in reply to these texts?

I know if you have a blackberry you can send texts and call someone and make it look like it came from somebody else. You dont need specialist knowledge, in fact its quite easy. Im not sure if it would show up on your account though.
