The zeitgeist of these boards says that the Time for Talk is behind us and the Time for Action looms large on the horizon! People are tired of words without meaning, piddling our time and energy away on the message boards.

So be it.

Let us begin.

What we must do first is choose a Single Goal.

1 Goal

So what is it folks? And "Overthrow the Elites" doesn't count since that is a multi-step process which absolutely requires a well-defined follow up plan.

What I am asking for is a single concession to wring from the government through the mighty power of ACTION! After all, if we're going to have millions of people showing up in DC some day we need to be asking for Something Specific with one voice.

So what is it?

Once we agree on the purpose of this Movement, we can commence with the Moving.

My nomination: Ban the Stock Market. Would anyone care to second the motion?

INCOME INEQUALITY!!!

No more poor, no more super rich! Some people are going to flame me for being a socialist, so be it. Try living on frozen pizzas for a couple of years while watching Wall St. rake in the big bucks. Try telling your 8 year old he can't have a Chucky Cheese birthday party, and see others with 40 million dollar yachts. Try working a full week, pay all your bills, and not have enough left over for gas to get to work for another full week, and hear about Exxon making record profits. ENOUGH!!! Is it too much to ask that millionaires CEOs get 2% less pay so people on the line can make more than minimum wage?

Okay. This is an excellent example of why a revolution is so hard to get rolling. You are blinded by your perfectly understandable rage at the grotesque and widening divide between the haves and have-nots that you don't even know where to start.

Income equality (within reason) can be an excellent goal, but it is not a specific enough demand. It's not really actionable. Now if you have something that says a company's top paid employee's salary can not exceed 500% of the lowest paid employee's we could see some positive action as top executives shuffle things to meet such standards.

Even then, there would inevitably be loopholes that would maintain the status quo.

Okay Snus -

You attacked that idea. Where's yours? Where should the Great Correction begin?

Incidentally, it has been decades at best since the majority of the super-wealthy were actually Producing anything. The CEO of Keds can't make you a quality shoe. What do the upper eschelons of "Management" get paid for anyway?

Awareness. Awareness. Awareness.

I have said it a hundred times here on ATS, every time one of these threads pops up.

Agreed that the most realistic thing is continued Awareness. The darkest forces in this world rely on secrecy to operate. Just having talk out there about what they are doing is a partial deterrent to their most diabolical schemes.

But this is a thread for those Revolutionaries who say the time for such talk is over! They lament the lack of focus to the Movement. I'm just trying to give them the chance to focus their energies through a fast and loose variation on the Socratic Method.

Enjoy the ride.

The movement towards legalization of Marijuana.

Let's face it, hemp is the only cash crop that has proven results.

This country has gained it's independence by the mass cultivation of hemp.

Actually yes I can.

I can not promote the use of illegal substances.

But I can speak freely about the legalization of marijuana all day long.

Here's hoping the mods see fit to leave your suggestions since you are focusing strictly on the economic reality of a cash crop rather than the intoxicant effects.

We'll see if we get enough agreement, but this may prove to divisive to be the rallying cry. After all, we already have a pretty strong legalization movement in this country. I just wonder if it's reached its plateau.

The UK seems to be moving towards legalization i think, the drug advisor was recently sacked for saying it was ok and less harmfull than alchohol but the tabloids got wind and now alot of people think its safe.

The money side of taxing it would be huge. 'Solve the rescession in seconds'

There are a few things that can be legalized, regulated and heavily taxed. Ah but why would we want to turn billions in enforcement and incarceration expenses into billions of dollars in tax revenue?

My question is, with the moronic streak of faux-morality imposed by centuries of church sponsored neuroses in this country, would we ever be able to reach a real consensus on this these things?

An audit of the Federal Reserve would be awesome as far as throwing aside the curtain and paying some attention to Men behind it. I know Ron Paul's working on it in Congress.

To keep life the way it is.. maybe planets are for the generation of various forms of sentient life... maybe heaven is in space. I needed the masses of suffering dieing people to see and understand concepts... as will everyother evolving lifeform across all infinity. Your reality tunnel was not only shaped by you but the world around you. You are not the only cookie .. but also the cookie cutter. It is the anger and sadness that shapes you, dont you think they should stay?

These ideas and possiblitys to the structure of reality will not dissapear from the jammed cogs in my vision of a perfect society.

Isn't this thread a violation of the terms of ATS. There's to be no planning of any kind. I'm at least under this assumption. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If it's a TOS violation, I have no problem with it being canned, though I hope that my use of this supposed call for action is clearly a rhetorical device to frame a discussion on the inherent lack of cohesion within the "Awake" communties.

People are constantly screaming for Action! around these parts without ever taking the time to discern a logical goal or destination.

I'd rather generate a conversation about specific (if not realistic) goals then let the negativity feed off itself until some loon ends up on a clocktower somewhere.

In short (too late, I know) this thread should be about ends and not means.
