It seems that a lot of topics are derailed on this website tdogg1 (not suggesting you) by people who come forth as apparent specialists with insight who are often offering up information to support the belief that Muslims have brought it all upon themselves in a vacuum.

People say Bush murdered and tortured people when he was young.

What are you talking about? I've never heard about anything like this. Do you have any proof or links you can post about this?

I've lived in Texas my entire life, almost 34 years, and I've never heard any stories about Dubya torturing and murdering people when he was young.

No big deal, maybe confusion over the x-boyfriend Dumbya's wife killed.

Does anyone have an original source on this story? Court citing? All I can find are a ring of blogs each quoting one another.

I am going to file this under Urban Legend until I see something credible.

This article may be of interest and support the (original post) but it's not an original source for the (original post) ... it does offer insight into the changes for Iraqi women post-Saddam.

Hidden victims of a brutal conflict: Iraq's women

Abduction, rape and murder are the punishments for any woman who dares to hold a professional job. A month-long investigation by The Observer reveals the terrible reality of life after Saddam

No big deal?? Tdogg1 made no mention of Laura Bush killing an ex-boyfriend. His claims are that "Bush tortured and murdered people when he was young."
That has nothing to do with Laura Bush.
I think you should stop trying to jump in and defend the statements made by another person, especially when you're replies have nothing to do with what is being said.

When and where did I "claim" that Bush tortured and murdered people? I was making a point about lies, liars, hearsay, and propaganda. And this is a blatant example of what I was talking about.

This is a valuble thread. I feel partially responsible for derailing it and causing it to drop like a stone.

To read how one Iraqi woman feels about what has, and is happening to her country, you'll never read anything as moving and powerful as this:

Oh how liberating it must be for Iraqis to be blessed with the presence of the Axis Of The Willing.

When I went to school, this place was known as the cradle of civilisation. Now, another 126 people with higher university degrees are soon to disappear from Iraq.
Such a bright future we've given them.... who cares hey?...

All the Iraqis with a brain are either dead or gone abroad serving the nations other than Iraq. Afghanistan is facing the same situation, all the educated are either dead or gone abroad.

Yes; everyone should read the blogs by Layla Anwar; a forthright Iraqi voice.
We of the Axis of the Willing went into these people's lands on an agenda other than that which was promoted by our 'leaders', the deceivers.

Forget all the BS, "evil" etc; the truth is we were lead by 'deceivers'.
The deception continues, and so many fools among us think ourselves 'enlightened'
Lies have been and continue to be the central driver of our actions and innocent human lives are destroyed because of this.

I am continually disgusted by those around me.

Just imagine how many generations it will take for the people of Iraq to regain some fraction of fruitful life which they once had.

WE kill, imprison, torture, and mutate their men women and children, and think ourselves progressive modern people.

As the one time 'leader of the free world' (Bush) said...
"Mission Accomplished"
