Chavez is a nut. Just another player in tptb pushing his own part of the agenda. I guess this is where they're taking us next, Latin America.

LOL to those who think Chavez cares about war casualties on his side. He does not care about the Venezuelan people, he only cares about staying in
power.
He accuses his ministers of being inefficient and blames them for everything that goes wrong. Well who is managing the country? He is. He NEVER EVER
talks about the RAPIDLY climbing insecurity in the country because he fears that if he talks about it the people will start to see that he is the one
to blame. You think its funny getting shot/killed over a pair of shoes? You think its funny I find myself looking around to make sure nobody is
following me on my way to my car?
Well not everyone walks around with 100 body guards Mr. Chavez, the rest of us DO have to worry about crime.
He cares about giving enough to the poor to were they will support him, but never too much. Keep them poor and ignorant and they wont see through his
lies.
By the tone of your post, can I assume you are Venezuelan? If you are, I am curious about your view. Nothing like a ground zero report to balance the
discussion, eh...

I ain't gettin' yer post. What exactly are you asking me? I am not in any parade at the moment. I was merely curious about Legacy's post
because he seems to be speaking from a Venezuelan viewpoint. Did I indicate that I have "INSIDE EXPERIENCE"?? My apologies if it seemed that way,
because I do not. I am an American (Navy veteran) with an opinion, but I haven't said (yet) what my opinion is. Again, clarify for me please...

US encourages Venezuela, Colombia to take a seat and

US encourages Venezuela, Colombia to take a seat and talk
04:11 PM. Western Hemisphere. The US government has urged Venezuela and Colombia to talk and does not think that the strained situation is related to
the US policy towards Latin America, US Department of State Spokesman Philip Crowley said on Tuesday.
"Venezuela could not stand a war with Colombia and the
US" In the opinion of Ochoa Antich, Venezuela’s expansionist policy has overtaken the policy implemented under the Cuban revolution
Ex Minister of Defense and of Foreign Affairs Fernando Ochoa Antich thinks that the bottom problem in Colombia-Venezuela relations is due to the
Venezuelan government interest in expanding the revolutionary operating range to the neighboring country.

Chavez is known for bombastic, over-thee-top diplomacy in a rather florid, attention-getting mode. Nevertheless, his reaction, while prehaps erratic
and dangerous in execution, is predicated on fairly sound geostrategic reasoning. Oil and commodity prices are being kept artificially low and the
dollar artificially high. The role of the US currency as a the "petrodollar" is increasingly rankling to all of OPEC, including Venuzuela. On the
one hand he is chomping at the bit for the return of $150 oil, especially as the US dollar's value looks set to crater internationally over the next
few years. On the other hand he fears the US will use force (or use elements in Colombia as proxies) should he prematurely break from the petrollar
regime. Its all a matter of which course of action brings more domestic chaos, suffering, and servitude.

The interesting part of this thread is that although the topic is "Chavez tells his countrymen to "Prepare for War"; that he is the one threatening
war, which the U.S. hasn't made a peep about going to war with him, the essence of this thread is to diminish and pound the U.S. with "war monger",
and all the rest of the junk being said.
You've turned the topic around.
It's not the U.S. who has said "Prepare for War'. Remember?
It's the on-his-way-to-being-the-Dictator of Venezuela, who apparently got very drunk one night and decided it would be funny to threaten the U.S.
with war.
What a hangover that must have been.

Just wanted to contribute by saying that although the colombian army has less equipment and the colombian airforce just has a few kfirs, Colombia has
the only army in south america that fights every day. Venezuelan military are more interested in looting that fighting.
