Every Space Mission From the Last 50 Years on 1 map

Topic started on 13-10-2009 @ 04:47 AM by Extralien

Found this on Digg.

It's quite an impressive map of every space mission from the last 50 years, all on one map.

A very handy and attractive method of seeing exactly what we have been up to.

It does not cover sattelites that orbit Earth for Earth studies though.

It's incredible to see how far Voyager 1 has gone .. kinda makes me wish I was going with it.. a lot faster though

here is the Mission Map

Awesome! S&F!

Go Voyager go!
So it's very close to leaving our solar system then?
Be amazing if it got picked up as soon as it left

it'd take 3light years to actually leave our solar system as we know it.

space isn't designed to be understood by the feeble brains of mankind

we are but germs in the eyes of the universe

to be more precise, the outside of our solar system is ~230 AU or 1.3 light DAYS, not 3 light years.

speak for yourself when you talk about a 'feeble human brain'
