You and spinkyboo have a short memory or you just don't know when it is you are supposed to hold your hand to your chest.

What you are missing is that of all the people there, Obama was the only one that knew enough to do the right thing when the Anthem is played.

It's the pledge of allegiance that called for a salute. By the way it was written by a Christian Socialist. It was a marketing ploy for selling flags.

Roosevelt instituted the hand-over-the-heart gesture as the salute to be rendered by civilians during the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem in the United States, instead of the Bellamy salute. The school thing would be an affront if it were a policy. This was probably just a teacher overstepping bounds. Why not try to find out what actually happened instead of going ballistic first and never even bothering to learn THE TRUTH.

If it were my children, I'd have definitely had a big problem with it. And not for the reasons you put forth... fear of indoctrination or w/e. I'd object because they are young children and shouldn't have some adult's concern with politics pushed on them. Whether it comes from an over-zealous teacher.. or some fanatical "consultant" approved by the school district. They're kids... they shouldn't be used to further political agendas. That's wrong in my book... and that's what I see happening in this case.

So when you say "Why didn't anyone say anything then?" My answer is.. I wasn't there.. or I , for one, would have. And when you try to color objection to this incident as "hypocrisy" I do sort of take offense.

The hypocrisy is, that a majority of those complaining about this particular situation, would not have complained when it took place in regards to a president they supported.

That.... is the hypocrisy I am speaking of.

Like I said, no one complained as my area is in a majority of republicans. I CAN guarantee as I personally know many of these parents, that if the music instructor were to try and do the same thing now in regards to Obama, they WOULD be complaining and would boycott the program.

I know these people, I hear what they said back when Bush was president, I hear what they say now. Again, I GUARANTEE that they would be throwing a fit if a program, exactly like the program put on when Bush was president was put on now in support of Obama, they would be having a field day with it.

I know I know, it is hard for many of you to admit to. But my statement stands like it or not.

Agreed, I really just felt the need to point out the hypocrisy I am seeing in regards to the situation, especially in regards to the music program put on at my child's school when Bush was president.

This is my last posting in this thread. No one pays attention to the truth anyway and can only makes excuses.

You people are fricking hilarious... This was JUST a video of kids rehearsing for a song. Maybe for a video to send to obama or maybe he was coming to the school. Sorry dont know.. dont want to do the research. BUT you can see even in the beginning one of the students giving suggestions on how to do the song. In any schoo. they always do some schtick like this to make the higher official welcome and admire the kids. It is called: tring to stand out from other schools and hopefull will look favorably when doing budgets etc. hand gladding if you will.
Good thing they didnt show that the teacher was african american.. you all would have gone off the deep end on that one hahahhaha.
give your heads a shake. seriously. was just kids trying to do good on a schoo assignment. Dont think that they would be swayed by this in the least bit. Most kids that age and any school would be excited and honored for doing this for their president.
It isnt till later when they learn more about politics and reading between the propaganda will they understand. geeeezzzzzz people just relax.

I don't care who the president its, as the president represents the State. Folks, look past the charade of Dem. or Rep. They don't matter, their methods differ, but the ends are the same. We should be alarmed of this because is indoctrination for children to love the state. Be it FDR, Bush 1 or 2, or BHO, it doesn't matter, they all represent the same parasitic entity.

If the lyrics in the song were about Obama in a historical context of black history month, it would be fine. But the song is singing the praises of his political platform. The song takes the name of Jesus and replaces it with Obama's name.

The woman leading this, wrote a book about Obama and has designed curriculum for little kids about realizing their potential through learning of the 'greatness of Barack Obama'.

Sorry, but you are missing the point and the context of what was being said and done. This isn't about Obama being black, the vast majority don't care about that anymore. Crying racism every time there is criticism of Obama is a little ridiculous don't you think?

Regarding context, The Prez did not order this to be done. This is not a wide spread phenomenon that is sweeping the country. I highly doubt that he even knew who this teacher was before the video, so in context, how do you contribute this event to him? How is this an example of "Fascism, Hitler Youth"?

I never said this was done at Obama's orders. But that fact that socialist elements can seize on someone like Obama, that supports many of their measures, and politicize and make little kids sing Obama's political praises is disgusting.

Black history month is not a license to indoctrinate and politicize children. This song was not about Obama overcoming a race barrier. There is one line about him being the first black President, and the rest are praising his policies and raising him to God-like status.

You made a comment that this was a song sung during black history month, and that people like me freak out and say we should all run and get our guns. I thought that was you claiming this was based on racism. If that was not you intent, I apologize. You may not have played the race card, but as I am sure you have seen, many are claiming opposition to Obama is founded in racism. Which is absurd. I don't even know where to begin with this one!!!!! To be honest and up front, I'm not a big Obama supporter. I don't agree with some of his decisions or his beliefs on certain topics (Which I won't bother even going into). I will have to say that I don't believe that this is happening all across the US. I believe this teacher is just overstepping her bounds as a teacher. Each president is going to have their followers and their haters at his/her feet. But to take and worship Obama as much as they do now.

I'm a pretty laid back guy and not into politics that much. But since Obama has been elected I have seen a big turn around on how a certain race (not being racist) attitude has changed. I'm in the military and was at our support center with my wife getting her ID card updated. Now mind you this is suppose to be a professional atmosphere. A black male along with three black females came walkind down the hall (each of these people worked in the building in various departments), using profanity and swearing that the F***ing "White Man" and white people were trying to keep Pres. Obama down. We were the reason that he is not able to snap his fingers and change the entire country. My daughter has also had to endure slander on her school bus. Along with these students alot of her teachers were pushing the issue of Obama.

I will support this man as our President but I will not put him up on a high horse. Pres. Obama is just another person like me and you. He is no different. I don't see how people can worship another human being as much as these people are worshiping him.

He's either going to become one of the greatest Presidents or he's going to be labeled as another George W. Bush. Only time will tell!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt he is. Then again, if he is, who cares. But I sincerely doubt that the Mayan were thinking of Freemasons when they made there calendar and prophecy. This is a little too out there for my appetite, and really has nothing to do with this video that I can see.

I read the lyrics and I could find no signs of indoctrination or "worship". Its just an innocent song sang by school children about the current president of the united states.

Sometimes I think you guys go searching for things just so you can scare yourself.

I have no problem with teaching kids to sing as part of music/civics learning.

Heck, singing is a great way to learn. I learned how to spell many words that way.
