Nope: Not in my book. It may make you the Vietnamese equivalent of what some call an "Uncle Tom" if you have white friends or maybe a "traitor to your race". The situation would be especially clear if your people were also living in American.

I am black and I must confess that I have been labelled an Uncle tom by some black people. I confess to actively dislike those who fulfill every anti-black racist stereotype. but Hey Ho I am a strong guy and have quick hands so they tend to say stuff behind my back which is their right.

Some minorities seem to live in a siege mentality. I remember when I first started scuba diving in London how it upset some people!!!
