I agree the footage isn't the best, but You can see what's going on; rifle pointed, soldier hesitates, recoil, and flash of the muzzle.

I would at least like to see this seriously addressed in the MSM.

How many soldiers "just carry out orders" everyday around the world? How many prisoners are tortured by soldiers "just carrying out orders"?

Soldiers such as these are just mindless puppets, if you ask me.

I don't know how the Israeli army operates, but American soldiers have the right to refuse an order such as this. But, would they? I really doubt that most would. Because they're trained to "carry out orders".

I'd like to think that if there were ever Martial Law declared and the government starting locking up civilians, that some soldiers would deny orders so that they could uphold the oath that they're sworn to ... but I really doubt they would. They'd just "carry out orders" like a good soldier is trained to do, then hide behind the order, like a coward ... as this soldier did.

Israel consists of hypocrisy. Jews who carry on how they were so mistreated but yet are the same people who commit mass murder against their neighbors.

I'll have to dig around a bit when I get a moment but I am sure this is the same video I remember.

It's hardly surprising that the censorship folks jumped on it so quickly, which seems par for the course these days and should serve a reminder to everyone about just how powerful the state of Israel really is. Not only are they strong militarily (mostly against lightly armed opponents or unarmed women and children), they also have a well embedded corps of "helpers" in most countries, ready to do what is necessary or ordered to protect the reputation of Israel.... or maybe it's even worse than that?

Up to their eyeballs in political corruption, both at home and in our countries too, they have a lot of control over what WE are allowed to read, view and discuss openly in the counties of our birth where, apparently, we have such things as freedom of speech! Yep, freedom to say what we like, as long as it's not critical of Israel and it's barbaric actions.

You can see the look on the that young soldiers face almost; his body language is the most telling. I'm sure he was just stupidly following whatever atrocity he was told, but imagine now with the Internet, We can all teach military, or People involved in war that their actions are accountable, and justice will be served at some point. Just a matter of time

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I could have gone my whole life without watching this.

Something that people here need to understand is that this isn't one sided. This thing happens to both Israelis and Palestinians. I can't even imagine the repercussions of this video. Its funny, us humans want vengeance and violence after seeing this sort of thing. Its only till the vengeance reaches back to someone you know, that you want to solve things out peacefully.

This video might not have reached headlines but it gained some attention. But when it gains attention, there are many feelings running around. Some for sympathy, sadness, anger and most likely someone out there of joy. These feelings can help a difference, whether in a positive way or negative.

This was allegedly filmed by a little girl on her cell phone cam. I guess when she heard the shot she ducked. I would have done the same thing.

Since yesterday I have put in quite a bit of effort and this is what I've got so far [Phages "get your facts 1st" signature is BOOMING in my skull!]

The incident in question happened over a year ago on July 7 2008 in the West Bank village of Nil'in. It took just under 2wks for the video to reach B'Tsalem who then posted it on their website [ORIGINAL SOURCE] on the 20th July 2008.

The video was mirrored the same day on the www.bilin-village.org... alongside Emma Hayward's Al-Jezzera video report.

The story was then mirrored on blogs.abcnews.com... on the 21st July 2008 [ MSM outlet! page includes link to video!] and on www.haaretz.com... on the 22nd July 2008. [seems to me mike was a bit late...1 yr late! And ABC may now own the rights to the vid as its on their website! I'll ask them OK! ]

Then the Palestinian Front for the Liberation of Plalestine website posted a story on or after August 8th 2008 [No date for articles posting! Note even when veiwing the source! ] where the victim [Ashraf Abu Rahma] was honoured and the story retold.

OK thats all the links I previously provided in chronological order!

Now before I press on with more info I have come up with I need to seriously debunk the youtube incident in regards to the other video being used as an example! [RE: Neda's death] Its been removed and reposted and removed and reposted multiple times. The current Neda video on youtube was posted less than 2mths ago and I'm sure it will be pulled down if it gets flagged! Seems St Vaast's idea has sorta worked for that vid in this case! Anyway I'll ping youtube on this incongruency when I contact them OK!

Moving on I found out the name of the soldier who fired the shot and I investigated the ramifications that happened to him and his superior officer.

Er, I do not know the full story, but WRH, aka mike had posted this video long ago. I do think he was one of the original People to air it. He had asked for People to spread the video, but it was along the lines of re spread. I remember seeing it along time ago on his site.....in other words he had it directly uploaded to his site. as in a wrh video, but that's all I know.
