I go to bed yet toss and turn
not yet tired energy to burn
I step outside into the warm night
the moon is small but gives a dim light
Oh the aroma of the freshly mowed lawn
fields full of fireflies carrying on
the sky all a sparkle with glistening stars
crickets and frogs sing near and far
a distant owl heard crying out "who"
tis I I replied good evening to you
the coyotes crying a melancholy sound
on the hunt to feed the scavengers abound
A whiff of honeysuckle there on the vine
soothing the senses with a sweetness divine
the calm of the evening makes everything seem right
its part of the magic of warm summer nights
|

The magic which cannot be made overnight
A warm summer night need to be felt and not found
Next time your alone on a warm summer night
take some time out and look around
Perhaps you'll feel the magic
only there on a warm summer night

And on warm summer nights slow dancing to "sway"
At a beach club we kiss down by the bay
Soft moonlight plays through the silver clouds
You turn to me and we move through the crowds
The sand beneath our feet feels soothing and nice
Shifting and cool like velvet and ice
The constellation of Leo right over head
Love me or leave me that's all that you said
As we moved down the path just beyond sight
All I could think of was that warm summer night

A warm summer night, we find serendipity,
A warm summer night, I've lost my virginity,
Has anyone found it ?, I haven't even looked,
Who cares anyway?
A warm summer night, the urge and the nerve,
The beginning of life's, steep learning curve,
Two teachers, two students, too much of a rush,
We've moved into madness, from that little crush.
That we had on each other, that always felt right,
that led us to love, on a warm summer's night.
I still remember everything.
