I would use part of the $25K to set up a website that focused on the realities of alternative energies. I would take the remaining money and
purchase solar and wind power, and then archive all the difficulties, as well as the sucesses, and do a real-time cost comparison, so that people
(unless I surprised myself) could come to understand exactly how difficult it is to even break even with conventional alternative energies.
then, perhaps folks would "wake up" and stop trying to make others feel guilty about "green" technologies. Then, perhaps when our political
pundits talked about "green" technologies, it wouldn't be quite so easy to portray it as a done deal, and perhaps some real changes could be made
it research. I believe people will FLOCK to spend their hard-earned money on these technologies, WHEN it FINally becomes cost-effective.
Slightly off-topic, but related: Today my Bride and I are purchasing quite a bit of solar stuff. We know it's going to be a struggle for it to
be cost-effective, however we have other reasons for doing it. I fully intend to document the process.
