Yup. I was just saying it wasn't all that extraordinary. The World seems to be very jumpy in regards to illnesses anymore.

They were from Oregon lol.. they were on the news last night.

But I suppose when you have over a billion people living on top of each other, one nasty virus can put a big dent in your population.

It only made news because of China's over reaction.

We have cures for the Bubonic Plague.

In fact, many people all over the World die from it every year .. it was never eradicated.

Well it sounds like the nice thing about the plague is that it can be combated with antibiotics, and since it is a bacterial infection, it doesn't spread the same way that a viral one does. That doesn't mean you can't catch it from someone else, but I believe you must have very close contact with an infected plague victim, while the flu can spread to individuals in proximity to a sick person with a cough.

Silver lining?

the fact it is in a remote town hopefully should see this contained. Will be worth keeping a watch on over the next few days.

Calm down herd, calm down! The plague has been in the U.S. for quite awhile and I'm sure the NWO didn't put it here. It is established in western rodent populations. It may be nasty and potentially fatal, but can treated with antibiotics.

Heres another one to worry about. Aids has a new strain out there in Africa now.

African woman carries new HIV strain

Washington - A new strain of the virus that causes Aids has been discovered in a woman from the West African nation of Cameroon.

It differs from the three known strains of the human immunodeficiency virus and appears to be closely related to a form of simian virus recently discovered in wild gorillas, researchers report in Monday's edition of the journal Nature Medicine.

The finding "highlights the continuing need to watch closely for the emergence for new HIV variants, particularly in western central Africa", said the researchers, led by Jean-Christophe Plantier of the University of Rouen, France.

The three previously known HIV strains are related to the simian virus that occurs in chimpanzees.

40 Al-Qaeda Terrorists Dead After Failed Experiment With Plague Weapon

Posted GMT 2-6-2009

40 al-Qaeda members died after being exposed to the plague during a biological weapons test; test took place in cave hideouts in Tizi Ouzou province, 150 kilometres east of the Algerian capital Algiers. The newspaper said they apparently became infected while experimenting with biological weapons. Algerian security forces discovered the body of a dead terrorist alongside a road near the abandoned hideout. U.S. intelligence officials, speaking anonymously with Eli Lake of the Washington Times on Tuesday, could only confirm the sudden base closure after an unconventional weapons test went wrong. The officials said they intercepted an urgent communication in early January between the AQLIM leadership and al-Qaeda's top leaders in the tribal region of Pakistan. The Algerian terrorists said they were abandoning and sealing off a training area after a leak of a chemical or biological substance.

This happened in February. Here it is August and we hear of a whole town in China being quarantined. Could they have gotten that plague out and struck China? I don't know.
