This is the latest update from the SWPC website. They are the guys that give out advisories and warnings. Kind of like the NWS during tornadoes and
severe thunderstorms.
IIA. Geophysical Activity Summary 19/2100Z to 20/2100Z: The geomagnetic field was predominantly quiet, with isolated unsettled conditions. Solar wind
data observed at ACE was consistent with a co-rotating interaction region. IIB. Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to
be quiet to unsettled, with isolated active levels, on day one (21 July) as an anticipated coronal hole high-speed stream (CH HSS) becomes
geoeffective. Quiet to unsettled conditions are expected on day two (22 July) as the CH HSS begins to wane. Activity is expected to decrease to quiet
levels on day three (23 July).
I check that discussion every day and they have been predicting it for a few days now. They are also not making a big stink out of it. Plus i think
they know about the eclipse so if there was something to make a stink about they would do it. We had a Coronal Hole Stream last week. Check out these
2 pictures. One is the current picture of the Coronal Hole and the other is one taken from Sept 5th of 2008.

Now keep in mind i am new to this stuff and i don't know if the size of the hole matters to how fast the wind stream is. But the current one is
nothing compared to the one from last year. Also, I don't know if there is any effect on the moon during the eclipse. But i highly doubt there will
be. Perhaps Phage could post something a little more detailed and something that makes a little more sense then my jibba jabba.
