Strong words indeed.

My complaints are against hypocritical attitudes. As in "But he did it, so why can't I?"

Understand now? There comes a point where that behavior must cease and desist.

The Kernel agrees but must wonder why it has to stop now that it's a Rep. politician. Why didn't it stop when it was Dem. politicians that were taking the heat? Hmm? The term, "Good for the goose, good for the gander" comes to mind.

Not exactly sure why you would feel remorse to begin with, let alone pledge public denial of remorse.

IMHO you didn't like her for whatever reason and then want to smear her for personal reasons. The Palin I saw said she loved Alaska and was making the best choice for the state.

Because there comes a time when you have to strike a stake in the ground. And imo, attacking a family and a child with Down's Syndrome is as good a time as any.

I just thought I would clarify something for you since you seem to be having problems with the thread title.

The title sounds very odd. Remorse is something you feel.
How can you give what you feel 'to' someone? It's just ... odd.

I wonder if this is why Gov. Palin is bailing?
thinkprogress.org...

I think she is resigning rather than be impeached.
I expect her to be indited and brought up on federal charges soon.

Perhaps that's why she looked all jiggy during her announcement.

I don't like Sarah Palin much in the first place, but I think she has an obligation to her voters and to her state to finish out her term. She's cheating her supporters, not to mention setting up a bad reputation for herself.

If this is really the beginning of a presidential bid, then it's the most backwards and idiotic thing you could do. How could anyone get elected as a quitter?

I think the most dangerous thing about Palin is that she can speak in public without a script or teleprompter....

Hope you weren't really serious when you wrote that, fish.

I heard the (recorded) speech she gave, complete with the sound effects from Nature in the background, and was thinking to myself, "Darn, I wish she either had notes or a TelePrompTer or a cue-card guy....something, anything to stop the rambling, disjointed seemingly never-ending string of words that almost resembled coherent speech."

(OK...didn't think those exact thoughts then...but that's my consensus of the first minute or so...I tuned out the last several what seemed like hours...)

Well, I have to say that as much government hate that goes on here, the system is made like it is for a reason. Things come up where people have to leave. They don't make every political term end at the same time as the presidential term "just in case".

There is a Lieutenant to take her place. There is no Lieutenant burger flipper down at McFatties, thats why sometimes you have to wait.

I hate Palin.

HATE.

She abused the media just like all the other candidates in the past presidency and TO ME, made themselves all look like fools, even though America thinks they are all idols.

Seriously!?

We have become a Hollywood nation.

Obama is a charismatic, enthusiastic, "handsome" (to some) leader.

Palin is a soccer mom who turns all the guys on in their mid 30's,40's,50's, and probably continues. Hell, even some 20 year old guys and teenagers love her because her looks. Plus she is a woman.

McCain (while he did suck when campaigning) is some old white guy that is a loon.

Looks are important, but when they become one of the most important criteria in society, it is a sign of a doomed country. Why?

Unless you are a porn star or hooters girl, LOOKS will generally end up not doing anything for you skill wise. It helps, but real knowledge and skill goes 98% farther.

The only thing I have to say about all of this....

I don't care if people bash her political stances...and I don't care if they don't think she's fit for National office....Joe Biden...HELLO!!!

He gets a free pass even though he looks like he's intoxicated every time he's in front of the camera....everyone is always like..."That crazy Biden!! Saying crazy things again! HaHa!"

Insulting family and children though...that is way too far OVER the line....there is no justification for it...no matter how hard everyones tries to say it is ok. I don't care if she was in public...and I don't care if he Clintons were in public...

Insulting one's family is wrong..PERIOD. And anyone who tries to justify otherwise is nothing short of hateful themselves.

He's a nitwit racist with no experience and nafarious underworld connections who can't string two words together without his teleprompter and speech writer.

It's been this way since the invention of television. Was it FDR that was in a wheelchair? (if not, who was it, I can't remember, but it was one of the great ones).

But historians say if there had been television during his campaign, he would never have been elected, because Americans would never have elected a President in a wheelchair. And also Lincoln would never have been elected, because it was thought he was unattractive. Not to mention George Washington and his little wooden teeth.

Yes, it is very superficial, I agree.

People had "crushes" on Condi Rice, too.

Awww. Poor Hillary. I've never heard of anybody having a crush on her.
Maybe not even slick Willie anymore. he he.

Now, what can I say to bring this back on topic?

I never hated Sarah Palin whatsoever. What's to hate? She is a nice and intelligent lady who was asked to run for VP. Thankfully that didn't happen. I don't think she's cut out for something that "big".

I do think there must be other reasons why she is bailing, and I expect we will learn of these shortly. A good captain goes down with it's ship. But I don't think Alaska is going down. No, that would be California.

Oops. Off topic again. This is what I get for posting before I've had my morning coffee.

I am not a supporter of Palin, and I think she would've made a terrible VP, and while I'm not familiar with her track record as Gov. of AL,

While we're picking nits here....

Governor Palin is not now and will probably never be, Governor of AL (Alabama).

She is, however, a very accomplished and competent Governor of AK (Alaska).

Did you go to the same schools that Barack "57 States" Obama went to?

I'm glad we have grammar police here on the forums, I don't know what I'd do without you to correct me on a mistyped letter.

What a wonderful contribution to this post, I'm sure you are very proud of yourself.

grow up. you know what I meant. If you have nothing better to do than analyze every post for spelling errors, and missed punctuation, and then throw out slight insults to the people that are guilty of such acts, then you are a very sad and lonely person. I bet doing so makes you feel important? Intelligent? Keep thinking that, and keep tending to your wonderful LCD monitor tan.

I think that was Letterman.
An entertainer, trying to get laughs.
I agree it was very poor taste.

Regarding the schools that President Obama attended.....

He is a Harvard Graduate. You might be able to critize him in some areas, but certainly not his education.

Can you honestly hope Obama will fail only because he is a democrat?

On 911 (I had no idea what disdain I would later develop for GWB, because at that time he had only been in office a short time). I would pray, pray, hope, hope, that he would have wisdom and guidance to get us through the crisis). Even though I had not supported him.

But because he was our President. He was all we had.

There was a trashy failed attempt at humor by David Letterman, for which he has repeatedly apologized. But no one with any authority in the Obama campaign said a word against Palin's family or her special needs child, and neither did any Democrats that I know.

There is a Down's child in my family too. I don't think that should make me immune to any criticism.

Should I choose to run for public office (I wouldn't) I would expect that some no-brained Cretin would make some hateful remarks about me and my family. Just as some attacked Obama's. Michelle didn't go running to her lawyers every time someone said something hurtful about her or her children or her appearance.

I understand that Palin is suing the media for speculating about her reasons for resigning. She is just too thin-skinned for politics.

And where exactly did that image come from?

Your response seems to imply that the Obama camp or a democrat was responsible...

Care to share your source on who exactly released it?

Or am I mis-interpreting your post?

Well if I said comparable things about you (which I probably have)... sorry

"REAL AMERICANS" really stands out as a concept that does not garner any good will.
Such a fantastic charge will ensure she will be ground up and spit out. That comment crossed the line and really made me dislike her on a personal level. Had she not used the strategy and implements she did I might feel some mercy, never the less she is reaping the good will she sowed just as nature intended.

One observation-

for a uber righty, take responsibility folk, Her Royal Majesty The Govermer of Alabama Sarah Palin the First sure does find and except the victim role often
That is one thing I have recognized at least.

I won't miss her - she should head the GOP or maybe work on banning bad sounding words from the dictionary.
