Republican Rep. Bachus Makes List Of 'Socialists' In House Of Representatives

www.huffingtonpost.com

Not too long ago, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann was on Hardball, calling for the media to investigate her Congressional colleagues to "find out if they are pro-America or anti-America." Well, it turns out that someone has taken up Bachmann's call on a proactive basis! His name is Spencer Bachus and he has made a list -- a secret list! -- of the socialists in the House of Representatives. Or so he told the Birmingham News. Who are the seventeen socialists? That's the secret part, apparently.

Don't these idiots ever learn?

Of course we all know the answer to that question... after all they are the party of no.

If it weren't for the ugly ghost of senator Joe McCarthy this would be just plain silly... as it is its nasty and uncalled for.

Yet I am sure there will be plenty to support him without a scrape of evidence as to who the 17 so called socialists are.

I wonder what Senator Bernie Saunders of Vermont... Congresses only bonifided socialist has to say about this...

... fear mongering.

I wonder if this buffoon realizes that its not against the law to be a socialist or even be a socialist in congress... probably not.

Why is it if there is a certified loon in congress its almost always in the house of representatives and usually Republican?

Could it be that their standards aren't all that high?

Oh god not more partisan dribble. Both of these parties are HURTING America. I have yet to see the benefit of voting either the socialists or the fascists in.

I don't know Grover. You tell me. I'm tired of this crap.

Given the ugly history... aka Joe McCarthy and his "secret lists" I think its important that some fool would dredge up his memory and techniques and try his ploys again... BTW McCarthy's much feared list not only destroyed many lives and career's it turned out to be nothing... a blank piece of paper.

The issue isn't the fact they are Socialist, it is the fact they run as Democrats, I assume.

I would think that if these congressman and possibly our President were honest to who they were and ran with an (S) next to their name they wouldn't win.

Ask yourself this if you are an old line Democrat, "Do you like your party being taken as far left as it appears to have been"?

What if the Republican's were lead by the Far Right. How would that sit with everyone?

I hear ya. I remember reading about McCarthy's blank list. But I'm willing to bet this one isn't blank. And I sure would like to know who this guy thinks are socialists. 17 of them apparently.

If the man thought they were such a threat would it not be prudent to release such a list? If it just a blanket statement of all Democrats then we're going to have a problem. Because Kucinich is no socialist. But if it is Pelosi, or Holder, then I agree.

Thank you for saying that. If People would get their heads out of their A $$, they would quickly learn that it is not a REP vs DEM issue. They are both to blame. It is about morals and principals, of which they both fiercely lack.

The word 'socialist' is bandied about a lot lately; not because it has an OUNCE of truth as the label that it's being used as, but because it is an emotion-packed word, with lots of baggage, that can be used to demonize people in the eyes of certain demographics.

It's like how suddenly, anyone liberal isn't just left, but 'far left'; it's a perversion of labels in order to make anyone that isn't conservative seem dangerous or 'looney'.

I love how progressive taxes is labeled as Socialism. Because that's what's being used as the 'evidence'. That and any talk of expanding government. Neither thing makes the US or it's administration suddenly Socialist.

But because it can be used as a fear mongering threat, one that makes even the left squirm, it gets thrown about in ignorance.

No but it is against the law to commit treason.

Infiltrating the government to undermine its achievements is disingenous

That's a tyical socialist lie.

McCarthy was going after the Illuminati and the members of secret societies. He (correctly) assumed that many would use the international labor movement and socialism as fronts.

There are other parties besides Democrat and Republican.

Even Wikipedia listed 10 parties during the 2008 Presidential Election.

Let's give legislators the benefit of the doubt, and assume that they won't engage in partisan bickering over this issue.

Anybody who referst to reasonable action as "socialism" is no better than the socialists.

You're shaming people who are genuinely concerned about socialists in government?

Maybe you'd like to believe that socialism doesn't exist?

There is no law against a socialist being in Congress... Bernie Saunders of Vermont is the only self declared one and he is deeply admired in his state... Nor is there anything saying or suggesting that to be a socialist is to be defacto treasonous either...

Both are idiotic fallacies.

I must commend the Republican party for becoming one of the most intolerable groups I have ever laid eyes on. Polling fellow members of congress on whether they are 'american' or 'anti-american', composing lists of 'socliasts'.. I wonder how long it will be before they start calling a political disagreement 'treason'.

Note that I said the PARTY, not the Republicans. I've met plenty of perfectly reasonable people who identify themselves as Republicans, but the 'elected officials' who use the title are a good deal less reasonable then the people that elect them.

What is this the Third Red Scare?

Have they finally realised no one is buying their false-flag, global terrorism paranoia anymore so they're resorting back to tried and true Cold War propaganda?

Hey Bachus, choke on this:
Only 53% of Americans believe Capitalism is better than Socialism

It sure as hell wasn't Socialism that bankrupted the United States and turned the greatest surplus ever into the greatest deficiet ever.

But it will be socialism that comes to the aid of the Health industry, Education, and the Budget. Once people like Bachus wake the hell up...

I could not agree more... I have said many times that I am fully aware that there are plenty of good decent Republicans out there but what they don't understand (or want to face) is that their party has been hijacked by a bunch of extremists who are running the party into the ground in their ideologically driven fanaticism.

Oddly enough, the biggest beneficiaries of socialism in this country are the 'red states'. Only Texas and one other red state contributes more than it receives from the Federal government, all the others depend on excess funds from the 'blue states' to survive. So without some degree of socialism in our government, the majority of republican run states would be living in comparative poverty.
