Let's read into the Rasmussen poll a little deeper.

The verbiage is a little misleading. Emphasis on "somewhat approve". These folks are on the fence and could vote either way and lack conviction.

Overall, 58% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance so far. Forty percent (40%) disapprove. For more, see Obama By the Numbers and recent demographic highlights. See comments on comparing Job Approval ratings from different polling firms.

I prefer those who are more committed with their opinions like these folks.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 38% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President.

Thirty percent (30%) now Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of +8

Those who strongly disapprove have jumped from 16% to 30% since 1/21/09 while those that strongly approve have slipped from 44% to 38% during the same time frame.

thats funny

gallup.com shows the same thing

Obama Approval Rating

Approve - 60%
Disapprove - 30%

Gallup

"strongly approve" and "somewhat approve" are still approve just like "strongly disapprove" and "somewhat disapprove" are

you can't take the typical conservative stances of concealing part truths in order to advance a total lie.

If you want to exclude "somewhat approve" then you also have to exclude "somewhat disapprove"

works both ways in the real world.

Did you know that Obama's "Ratings" are lower than Bush's at the same point in his presidency?

Nope. Sure didnt. But it's funny that this is your second time making this statement, and also your second time not backing it up with anything other than your "Word"

Also, lets' just assume for arguments sake that you're correct about the approval rating.

So you're telling me that people are happier prior 9/11 than post 9/11 and find more trust in their president before Bush doomed us all to hell?

Wow. How can that be?

By the way - your immature name calling and repeated use of caps with "my keyboard stuck" punctuation marks is really a great way to get your point across

[edit on 30-3-2009 by Fremd]

Please stop! Your deperation is showing and frankly, it is pathetic. HERE is the information you were too lazy to look up. Notice Bush at 62% after 100 days! Hmmm... from Gallup even! Now you don't need to take my "word" for it.

I'm not even going to bother addressing that ridiculous non-sequiter, red herring, straw man arguement that you propose next regarding 9/11.

Finally, I guess adding character and emotion to your posts through punctuation and use of capitalization is new to you. It obviously works as it got my point across to you. And, by the way, a spade is a spade and an Obamabot is an Obamabot. Sorry, I call 'em like I see 'em.

Edit: to fix link and post the numbers...

Bush Aprroval at about 100 days = 62%

Does it give you a feeling of "i'm intelligent" when you form two words seemingly unrelated into a compound word of conservative intellect?

"Obamabot" hehehehehehe

Messiah, Obamabot, Obamatron, Teleprompter, omg i could go on all day.

All words invented by a vehemently bigoted right wing party who can't see the forest for the tree's.

Can't you understand that you words (which are literally directly taken from the mouth of Rush Limbaugh) are nothing but vile, regurgitated snippets from the vocal strings of a man who's life depends on lies that he hopes people like you will believe?

Obama's WIFE is decorating the white house, and i asked a question on the last page that NONE of you seem have the capacity to answer

If Michelle Obama is decorating the white house
what effect does that have on Barack Obama's ability to make decisions as the president of this great nation?

Seriously. Get over yourselves

Since when is making money a sin?
Obama had book deals among many other avenues of income

The world really is coming to an end when a republican is bashing a democrat for making money.

THAT is the text book definition of hypocrisy

Hey nice job! You've obviously spent some time taking lessons from the government spin zone. Rather than address the fact that I was correct in my statement regarding Barry's approval ratings... Rather than acknowledge that Barry's lustre is turning to tarnish - AND - I proved that as well... You chose to obfuscate and laser in on "Obamabot"

Man, Obama supporters are such simpletons!
Anyone still wondering why America is in such deep poop? I'll give you a hint - 52 million people just like this person I'm responding to!

Actually that would be problematic since they have to pay for anything that is not head of state related... meals etc.

Right, the Obamas do have to feed themselves and pay for the schooling of their children out of their own pockets, but my point was that they seemed to have earned enough money before taking office, that they would be able to take care of themselves on their own dime while in office.

Anyway, the main point was about gestures. It's a nice way of acknowledging that they are public servants, rather than communicating a sense of entitlement.

In my line of work, the only rating that guarantees my bonus check is a strong approval rating. If my customers "somewhat approve" of my performance that means that I am just getting by. If they "somewhat disapprove" I am failing. A "strong approval" rating means that I am going above and beyond the expectations. A "strong disapproval" rating simply means that I don't have a job. Somewhat does not cut it in my world. Mr. Somewhat doesn't sign contracts or make decisions.

Is it ironic that a black family lives in a white house that was built by black slaves?

On a different note, The Obama's are rich and can afford to redecorate as they please as long as they preserve the historical aspects of the house.

This is all just another publicity stunt though. They go out of their way to show that they care and that they are compassionate to the main street American but they are elitists. They cannot be like us more than we can be like them. All the media on how "normal" they are is just plain propaganda.

Claimed 4.7 million on Income Tax...that could sure do a LOT of decorating.

Fact: One who truly wishes to connect to the people when in a situation such as BO and MO are, could still decorate on their own dime and give at least half of their reported income to a "real" charitable cause like the homeless, habitat for humanity, feeding starving children in Appalachia, etc.

Don't they want the taxpayers to help their communities???...they could start by example.

You forget that it is "Do as I say, not as I do." with the Obama's.

Funny how with socialism everyone is supposed to be equal and help your fellow man but the leaders absorb the most wealth and help the least...

im not disagreeing with you

im saying that if you're going to compare apples to apples, you should consider all things equal

the other argument was attempt to compare apples to banana's on an orange's grading curve.

So let me see if i can understand your logic (if thats what you want to call it...)

George W. Bush takes over after the longest and greatest economic expansion we've ever seen as a country (the Clinton years) and has an approval rating of 62% during what basically are blissful years (nothing really going on back then)

And you're comparing that to Barack Obama taking over with the second worst economic problem in the history of our country, having inherited it from Mr. Bush's 8 year long political drug binge?

I'd say it's pretty remarkable that in our gloomy times, Obama still has a 60% rating.

Things can only get better from here.

Oh, and since you are excecuting a well known conservative strategy (conceal and hide the truth to propagate and distribute the lie)

let's not forget that George W. Bush also holds the lowest approval rating ever for a President

and his own party would not invite him to the GOP convention to support McCain.

When your own party distances themselves from you, you really are a piece of work.

but once again

you are refusing the answer the question about the topic, so allow me to ask it one final time, and we'll see what that hamster wheel turns out for you.

What does Michelle Obama decorating the white house, have to do with Barack Obama making policies and doing his job as President?

Marg......please count to ten, take a breather....

The 'Private Residence' is NOT a 'museum'.

The 'Oval Office' gets, usually, a new carpet with each new Administration....Pres. Obama decided to KEEP the same carpet that GW Bush installed.

I shudder to think about what Nancy Reagan did back in the 1980s....

The hard right banks on people not paying attention... and/or a short attention span... if more people did pay attention to the right's policies and what they do... every last one of them would be tarred and feathered then run out of town by now.
