Black Swan.

www.imdb.com...

Fantastic film...

Dark, twisted, brutal, atmospheric and messed up.

I can't really say too much without ruining the film, but I love Darren Aronofsky's movies usually and this was no exception.

It gets darker as it progresses and there are a number of scenes that really hit you.

Anyone thinking this is going to be a nice film about the ballet will be in for a shock.

I saw two ladies come in just before the film started, they must have been about 75 at least.... and I can't even imagine what they thought of some of the scenes

Anyway, if you like your films dark and atmospheric....

Go see this movie.

8/10

It will be good to see this movie on DVD without people screaming and jumping and generally making nervous noises... and mutterings of "oh my god"

Are people just stupid.... do they not know the film they're letting themselves in for?

Im not sure I liked it. I found it quite an uncomfortable experience sitting and watching some of the scenes, especially the nail scenes. My brother thought it was great, but it wasn't really to my taste. More of a Toy Story 3 fan myself.

Did see the Kings Speech, which is really good a 7/10.

Oh It's very uncomfortable...

And I haven't seen TS3 yet but I know I'll like that too.... and the King's speech will be next week I think.

I like a lot of different movies actually.... light hearted movies, rom-coms, crime thrillers, Horror's, sci-fi..... actually there's not a genre I don't like.

But I have to say, this film, Black Swan.... was definitely my kind of film.

Rubber reality films are always my favs.

Last night, watched a couple of the zombie movies I got for Christmas...

ZOMBIES ANONYMOUS - no name cast, on the cover, there's a girl with one of those Hello My Name is stickers that says "Hello, My Name is Angela, and I'm Dead".
Interesting movie, and premise. Zombies happen, but nobody knows why. The twist....they don't lose their mental faculties...only FULLY destroying the brain kills them. So, the living don't really know what to do about them (hard to execute someone you know/love when they can talk to you just fine)... If nothing else, the phrase "Mortally Challenged" will forever live in my lexicon. Low budget, but indie-like film.

ZOMBIE STRIPPERS - Jenna Jameson (no, not a porno, but definitely gratuitous T&A), Robert Englund
Had some funny scenes, but way too much just stripping. I know, right? But seriously, the scenes were way too long for a movie trying to be a dark comedy. At first, the wild abandon shown by the fresh zombies is a turn on for the crowd, but not sure why they are still interested as the girls rapidly decay over the course of the flick... ??? Basically a virus gets out when a GI escapes from a facility and ducks in the strip club to hide. Robert Englund is the owner of the illegal club, while Jenna is the head stripper. This movie is just what it sounds like, but is rather infamous amongst zombie aficionados, hence it was on my list. Not recommended.

The Serbian cannot unsee that one!
It ruined my night's sleep, it disturbed me so.

Stupid threads telling me NOT to watch stuff cuz I cannot handle it, then proving it true!
I also fell for that August Underground's Mordum a few weeks back.

If I were to say do not watch these, I would be condemning those who tend to be contrary.

I had a movie day yesterday and one I watched was actually pretty good and it was actually based on true events. The movie is All Good Things with Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst. It's based on a NY real estate heir whose wife disappeared in the early 80's. I looked it up online and the story itself is very interesting. The movie was pretty good, I thought. I personally think it's better than the movies coming out now claiming to be real and they aren't...Still working on "The Rite" and it's supposed true events. As for All Good Things I give it an 8.0

The next movie I watched was Devil and it sucked. Don't waste your time or energy or money. The previews made it look good and well it wasn't. It gets a 0 from me.

I also saw The Rite this weekend and honestly it wasn't good imo. The only reason it is doing well is because of Anthony Hopkins and I honestly don't think his performance is anything to yell or be so worked up over. He is a good actor but this was just not a good role imo for him. I was disappointed in the movie. Again they market a movie one way and it's the opposite and you are already screwed because you paid to see it already
I rate this about a 2, that is how bad I thought it was. I have also had no luck finding the so called real events this is said to be based on. Sounds like they used the same crap marketing as "Paranormal Activity" and "The Fourth Kind"

In Patagonia, a mechanic who dreams of a different life starts to think big after his adopted pup wins first prize at a local dog show.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua II (hey, the wife made me, and she's grieving, so had to, hehe..)

If you liked the first one, you'll endure this one. It wasn't near as good as the first one (which, as family movies go, was pretty cute)...but has its moments.

Still, the kids will like it (and beg you for a Chihuahua puppy)....

The Human Centipede
I just watched it and I think it was pretty good if you like deranged or twisted flicks.
The storyline was not exactly how I envisioned it, but it made some obscure references in some threads more clear.
It was not nearly as disturbing as some of the other movies out there and you can sit through the whole thing without walking away in disgust. That being said, it is not for the squeamish.
If you were to pay to see it, I'd pay up to five bucks.

I saw Devil the other night...the M. Knight Shamal...whatever movie.

It was actually pretty good. Not sure why it didn't do better in theaters. Bad timing and advertising, I guess. It was pretty suspenseful, even though I guessed the culprit out of the gate (though wasn't sure I was right throughout it)... Very underrated movie, in my opinion. (and I usually could take or leave his work)....

PI π

Fantastic film, been a few years since I've seen this and it was great to see it again.
The sense of claustrophobia and unease is very real and the film is dark and disturbing.

7.5/10

Wall E

Not sure why I never saw this one before?
Really enjoyed this, fantastically subtle and visually stunning.
A lovely little story and a very unique film.

7/10

TimeCrimes

Absolutely fantastic movie, extremely thought provoking and paradoxical, as many time travel movies are.
This film grips you from the start makes you think all the way through.
It is meticulous in its plot and truly atmospheric too.

One of the best Time Travel movies I've seen.

This along with Triangle & Primer make up a trio of fantastically thought provoking, mesmerising and original movies that are pretty rare to come by.

8.5/10

I saw the Hangover 2, Friday night with my bf and it was funny but the first one was much better imo.

I give the Hangover 2.....6 stars.

It was pretty much like the first one just insert Thailand as the location and add a monkey.

I loved PI!

My sister had that one on DVD years ago and I watched that and Donnie Darko and I enjoyed both.

Saw three pretty recently...

The Pirates of the Caribbean (new one, with Penelope Cruz, On Stranger Tides): It was better than the last installment, but still not as good as the first two films. Still, like all the films, had a couple of really good action scenes and innovative fights/escapes. Fans of ships will love the look of Blackbeard's massive ship...simply incredible.

Hangover II: Not as funny as the first, but still funny as hell. A lot more male nudity in this one, but in each case, it's part of the particular joke. The Asian gangster is again a scene-stealer, and this movie pretty much follows the exact same formula as the first (which is a good thing...if it aint broke, don't fix it). While not as good as the original (they are a bit more clued in to the answers of the night), it is still probably the funniest movie you'll see this year.

Bridesmaids: I saw this one mainly as it was billed as a female version of the Hangover (it's not), and it was my chick-flick capitulation with the wife. Most of the funny scenes were all in the previews. It was still an amusing film, but not nearly as funny as I expected. Kristin Wig was the main character, and it was really hard to like or sympathize with this gal (at least for me as a guy...maybe gals are different in this, I don't know). Simply put, she was a selfish arse for most of the film. The actress who plays Molly on Mike and Molly stole every scene she was in, but unfortunately, these were largely toilet humor (which simply isn't that funny to me).

Just saw King's Speech last night. What an excellently crafted film. Cinematography, sets, costumes, and well acted...just a pleasant experience to watch, and when he was giving his wartime speech, you really WANTED him to do well. I love it when a film gets you rooting for the protagonist.

I wonder how much of it is historically accurate (as far as Rush's character's cheekiness to the King, etc. and the feelings both Princes had about being King).

X-Men: First Class

Pretty cool movie, effects and cinematography what you'd expect from a big budget Marvel movie, few cheesy dialog scenes, great and hilarious cameo from an X-Men veteran and overall a great movie. Lot of references for comic book fans although I still can't help feeling about some characters in this and their portrayals in the Wolverine movie (like in that film Emma Frost is a teen and Xavier's an old man yet in this they're the same age etc) but you forget that slightly as you watch.

7/10

Inception I would give it 8/10 with a possible greatness factor to it, mind blowing in parts that's for sure.
