Great post!

I'm going to add a bit more conversation to it as they walk along, but it has legs just as it stands.

I've not ferreted out Carpet's new name yet, but I love a puzzle, so I'm going to keep worrying at it.

Great postings again... we're really looking at how we deal

I'm having a Heart sort of day.

I'm trapped in the eighties and can't find the door out.

That's it for me for a few days - I've got some farming that can't wait.

Please leave Silo in her PHARS - I've got a 'dream' scene I'm writing and will post when I come back in a day or two so between now and then just let her be - I don't want this one written over. THANKS KIDS!

Well mine's not through yet so have at it.

Leave me a hole or two to fill later maybe? Like about Carpet. I'm not sure how she feels about him at the moment especially after their past.

Am I detecting the beginnings of a running theme which cryptically involves paper hats and boxes or crates marked "FRAGILE"?

In the grander scheme of things, are paper hats really fragile, or are they unexpectedly tough, being able to bend rather than break and all that?

Mmmm... you know, I never looked at why I do that, it just keeps
popping up!

Hats:
Head-coverings that change the shape of our shadow, hide balding pates
and can shield our eyes from the harsh light. They can be tipped to salute others
and keep out the rain.
Foldable-items that can become part-of how people perceive us as we near them.
A paper hat can be worn as an amusing item made from everyday material and shows
that one thing can become another... serious information becomes something that can
makes one smile.

Crates marked Fragile:
Boxes of unknown material, possibly memorabilia of fondness that the owner wishes
to conceal from others in fear of them being tainted or damaged.
A box containing secrets that litter the mind and become dusty with age... but never
go away.
A crate locked to keep whatever is in there -in there.

Now this stuff is gonna bother me today!

Very strange. Very strange stuff as WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY back when Silo was still a little one at LAB and tried to sneak out with a U-Man family? She morphed (before LAB knew she could morph) into a little girls carry case. The little U-Man girl was going to her DNA donors habitat for a...you guessed it...a birth date celebration. Silo never got to go of course and spent her first time in 'time out' - which was LAB'S version of solitary confinement.

BIAD knows of many things, the disappointing part is that he sees the important
stuff as trivial and visa-versa!
He's busy teaching a wide-eyed Blackbird fledgling how to fly in my back garden,
to see a freakshow -such as this would make me chirp for my Ma too!
(With all that flapping, I've noticed it might be time for his annual 'UnderArm Hair
Shaving ordeal)... the razors I go through.... sheesh!

I'll see if I can tease something out of him during the 'Shearing'

Oh, yes. She was quite meddlesome with all the telling of stories that Dag and Adam were brother/sister, and Brittle, too, that she was their ma -- the Lady of the Lake...
all a bunch of lies...
Ben knows it, that's why he's steamed. He's goin' after Brittle, too....
he was not ONE BIT happy with having to go fetch Dag when she and Brittle were headed for Fairy Stone Park...
and he was the one who ejected the RavenMocker's amulet, preventing Gert's plan (in collusion with the other deities)....

yeah, it should be fun.

You know, as I consider BIAD, two thoughts come to mind: the first is that BIAD may be getting a bit tetchy with all this talk from you and I of "eyes" - seeing as how it's most likely he ain't got any!

Of course, he's likely got some other sensory organs to replace them with, which it's entirely possible WE should be getting tetchy about! (maybe Argentinian-manufactured radio receiving dish antennae... or something like radar...)

The second is that, since BIAD is nominally eyeless, Carpet/Newman ought to be the most comfortable around BIAD!
