Nah, ZION just looks alot like 2012 when its broken up into a square.
Anyway- I'm kind of digging this though-I love the retro throwback to the early 90's-it seems to have infiltrated London fashion at the moment.

That's not going to be an Olympic sport now is it?

I suppose the arena for that will be in Soho.

I seriously doubt there is a Zion meaning or subliminal message.

But I do believe they need to fire their current marketing department and hire new graphic artists. That has got to be the ugliest logo I have ever seen. Someone was obviously high while designing it. No sober mind would come up with that.

Here are some articles on it:

abcnews.go.com...

London-based brand consultants Wolff Olins designed the controversial logo, which is a far cry from the one used by London organizers as they lobbied to host the 2012 Games — the third time the Games will be held in England's capital city.

The colorful design, which cost organizers nearly $800,000 to create, features four jagged, bold numerals stacked two-by-two and reading 2012.

"It's not a logo; it's a brand that will take us forward for the next five years," Coe told BBC Radio. "It won't be to everybody's taste immediately, but it's a brand that we genuinely believe can be a hardworking brand."

It also says LION, and it's Rose colored. Old school Englandy mixed with horrible 80's schlock. Say no to day-glo!

edit: I see LIAR too. Who approved this travesty? What are the mascots going to look like?

The "Mascots" are UFOs.
Anybody remember that video they released in conjunction with the logo of a bunch of blubber-looking UFOs flying about the city? It was odd.

If there are hidden undertones that is the angle to look at.

I agree, that's what I see. The guy is on the left, the little square ln the middle is his wee-wee, and the woman is on the right crouching down "servicing" him. It looks like he's holding his wee-wee.

The white circles on her face... well you can guess what that might be. I'll give you a hint, it sounds like "Sea Men".

OMG OMG

Certainly lends new meaning to those wonderful lyrics, "I have often walked down these streets before..."

That logo is horrible! It says, Stay Away, Danger!

The word googol may have been invented by a child, but there was no need to have a child come up with this Olympic logo.

Surely, surely, it was another symbol, but cracked upon falling off the wall before the unveiling.

God save the queen, but, please, England, give up that logo.
