"an apple in nothing like a car"...these two films grotesque and human centipede have their similarities..."cannibal holocaust"-1980 is way more graphic than human centipede

Human centipede and grotesque are nothing alike. Ones about a crazy doctor who concocts a horrendous experiment the other is about a sicko who kidnaps and tortures a couple because its the only way he can get aroused . Besides being in the same genre they are nothing alike.

Dark Crystal was pretty messed up...especially considering it's target audience...Jim Henson lightned up a bit on Labyrinth though (had a similar feel)....
As far as a mainstream, theatrical movie though, my money's still on the Cell as being the most disturbing...
The Ruins was pretty messed up too (the idea, mostly), but the book is REALLY messed up if you're looking for something really disturbing...
Speaking of messed up ideas and books,
if anyone ever gets a chance: Read 120 Days of Sodom by Marquis de Sade. There's a film titled Salo based off the book but takes place during WW2 in Mussolini's Italy. A truly powerful film experience...
how and where do these directors and producers that make this kind of movie ^^^ find the people and get them to do what they are doing in the movie?...must be the same as the porn industry..."money and drugs" will convince just about anyone to do anything, especially if they grew up in a house and family that gave them no love and understanding...

Salo, or The 120 Days of Sodom - is disturbing enough to watch, indeed. worse is that it does not leave your brain. this is cinema for advanced, mature students with deep interest in film and a specific subject matter. even then, i think one may learn of the power of imagery without viewing this film. i would advise one reads about it first and thinks twice. i owned a copy and i regret having watched it.
