Umm, I don't know who did the song originally, but Johnny Cash did a great version of it.

OH MY GOODNESS....NOW I HAVE SEEN IT ALL...........I LOOKED IT UP:

Johny Cash covering a Nine Inch Nails track... it just doesn't seem possible, but what he has achieved with his stripped down version of Hurt is simply brilliant.

Wallflowers- 6th Ave Heartache:

Sirens ring, the shots ring out
A stranger cries, screams out loud
I had my world strapped against my back
I held my hands, never knew how to act

And the same black line that was drawn on you
Was drawn on me
And now it's drawn me in
6th Avenue heartache

Below me was a homeless man
I'm singin' songs I knew complete
On the steps alone, his guitar in hand
It's fifty years, stood where he stands

Now walkin' home on those streets
The river winds move my feet
Subway steam, like silhouettes in dreams
They stood by me, just like moonbeams

Look out the window, down upon that street
And gone like a midnight was that man
But I see his six strings laid against that wall
And all his things, they all look so small
I got my fingers crossed on a shooting star
Just like me-just moved on

Van Morrison - Brown-Eyed Girl:

Hey where did we go, days when the rain came. Down in the hollow, playin' a new game.
Laughin' and a runnin' , hey hey, skippin' and a jumpin'
in the misty mornin' fog with our hearts a thumpin' at you,
The Brown-Eyed Girl
You're my Brown-Eyed Girl

Now what ever happened, Tuesday is so slow,
Goin' down the old man river, with a transistor radio
standin' in the sunlight laughin'
hidin' behind a rainbow wall
Slippin' and a slidin', all along the waterfall with you,
the Brown-Eyed Girl
You're my Brown-Eyed Girl.

Do you remember when, ah we used to sing

Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah
Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah
la dee dah

So hard to find my way, now that I'm all on my own
I saw you just the other day, my how you had grown,
[.. ] sometimes overcome thinkin' bout,
makin love in the green grass, behind the stadium with you.
the Brown-Eyed Girl
You, my Brown-Eyed Girl.

Do you remember when, ah we used to sing

Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah
Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah

la dee dah

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers- Last Dance With Mary Jane:
She grew up in an Indiana town,
Had a good-lookin' mama who never was around.
But she grew up tall and she grew up right
With them Indiana boys on them Indiana nights.

Well, she moved down here at the age of eighteen.
She blew the boys away, was more than they'd seen.
I was introduced and we both started groovin'.
I said, "I dig you baby, but I got to keep movin' on.
Keep movin' on."

Last dance with Mary Jane, one more time to kill the pain.
I feel summer creepin' in and I'm tired of this town again.

Well, I don't know, but I've been told,
You never slow down, you never grow old.
I'm tired of screwin' up, tired of going down,
Tired of myself, tired of this town.

Oh, my, my. Oh, hell, yes.
Honey, put on that party dress.
Buy me a drink, sing me a song.
Take me as I come 'cause I can't stay long.

Last dance with Mary Jane, one more time to kill the pain.
I feel summer creepin' in and I'm tired of this town again.

There's pigeons down on Market Square.
She's standin' in her underwear,
Lookin' down from a hotel room.
Nightfall will be comin' soon.

Oh, my, my. Oh, hell, yes.
You got to put on that party dress.
It was too cold to cry when I woke up alone.
I hit my last number and walked to the road.

Last dance with Mary Jane, one more time to kill the pain.
I feel summer creepin' in and I'm tired of this town again.

Damn, I have so many favorites. These are just three that I definatly leave on the radio if I hear them.

The second is from another fave group 'I wanna be Adored' by the Stone Roses.

Getting hard now, there too many lol

Its gotta be a Led Zeppelin song, its 'Since i've been loving you'

The rolling stones song 'Gimme Shelter' just misses out
