Hollywood, a government propaganda tool ?

It would be a mistake to regard the CIA as unique in its involvement in Hollywood.
The industry is in fact fundamentally open to manipulation by a range of state agencies. In 2000, it emerged that the White House’s drug war officers had spent tens of millions of dollars paying the major US networks to inject anti-drug plots into the scripts of primetime series such as ER, The Practice, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Chicago Hope.
Despite criticism for this blatant propagandizing, the government continued to employ this method of spreading its message on drugs.

The White House went to Tinsel Town again the following year when, on November 11, 2001 a meeting was held in Hollywood between President Bush’s then Deputy Chief of Staff, Karl Rove, and representatives of each of the major Hollywood studios to discuss how the film industry might contribute to the ‘War on Terror.’
Jack Valenti, president of the Motion Picture Association of America said with a straight face that, "content was off the table", but Rove had clearly outlined a series of requests.
It is hard to gauge the consequences of the meeting, but a Rambo sequel, for instance, was certainly discussed, and duly produced.

Very interesting information on the involvement of the CIA in hollywood.
Some movies can have such an impact on people that they can well be used for social engineering purposes.
Some movies could start a cultural revolution.
I am sure that the CIA sees hollywood as a powerfull weapon to exploit and contain for their own use.

A lot of the time i am quite sure i can spot the obvious example movies because they tend to be more B plot movies with out in the open propaganda.
In fact i think there has been so many of these sponsred B movie productions that i personaly have grown dull from looking more critical at some thibngs i watch.

But i am sure there are plenty of very well crafted sponsored movies and TV series where the social manipulation is much deeper under the surface in much more hidden powerfull concepts.

It always amazes me how some movies can predict or depict so many things perfectly way ahead of its time.
Video games where arabs are the enemy in middle east theaters came out by the many just prior to the start of the second gulf war.

so many things are "propaganda" if you think about. It's funny because if you don't pay attention then you won't care. If you don't care then how much does it affect your thinking? Most of the mediums for "propaganda"
are perfect because they're in places most people don't to give much a thought to.

Ever notice how many movies came out over the last 15 years with black U.S. President's in them? Ever notice how many movies came out over the last 15 years depicting the end of the world? Well, we got our black president. Makes one wonder if the end of the world is truly around the next bend.......kinda like "they" know something we don't.

Maybe the Government uses Hollywood to push for social change to get people to thinking the way they want to. Did you know that the Government was heavily involved in the Transformers movie just released? I don't know if Hollywood is for propaganda but either the government really cares about people and wants Hollywood to push for social changes they think are important, or, it's a conspiracy, and they just want to brainwash people. I'm torn on things like this...

I think it is clear that some media people conspire with some government agencies to push their agenda.
There are some clear references at the end of the article i posted, and the transformers movie is mentioned in the article to.
I did'nt want to quote to large pieces from the article to keep fair use in mind.

TV and films can be used for brainwashing purposes and there are some topics on this forum trying to get in to this subject.

wow, i never thought about it, but it really could be possible.
after all, historically, gov did used communicaton tools as
propaganda, like newspapers, poster etc now it's technology's turn
to be use as propaganda and 24 is definitely a pro-government, tv serie

season 3 of FOX ''24'' tv serie, was about a deadly virus witch could kill
millions of victims, the same year, all TV News broadcast chanels warned
all populations about the virus N5N1 Pendamic risk, news was saying
'' it's not if but when it will happen..'' remember.

when elites depopulation agenda will happen, some will think it happened

season 2 and 4 an 6 were about nuclear terrorist attack who involved

i don't trust Hollywood movies or any TV series anymore, we would all
think clearly if we avoid those propaganda tools.

there is only one solution, do as i did, take your tv set and
get rid of it, internet is the only media you can search and
find the real truth about what is going on in the world.

i agree 100% but getting rid of our TV is not as easy as it sound
for 99.9% of the civilized populations, TV is part of our lifes on
Everyday Schedule. but yes its the solution, read more

I cut my television cable 5 years ago as a try out and i still didnt plug it back in.
And there are many more things you can do than just read books.

Recently i went to the movies and i can clearly see how powerfull of a tool movies and tv are.
The whole next day i have these images in my head as if i was almost there, and this was just an easy going movie.
I can only imagine what a tv series like 24 can do to you, and i am happy i dont have to endure that stuff any more in an uncontroled manner.

tv are programing us, it's a weapon against populations
we have to ( get mad as hell ) and get back control of

I've posted something like this back in June of 08...messages in movies the amount of movies that came out since 2000 are:

2000 =8

2001 =17

2002 =10

2003 =9

2004 =8

2005 =8

2006 =7

2007 =4

2008 =2

Granted, these are just a quick search, but most I think were sold in US. However, none that I see ever made list of top grossing films of all time.

So why pump all this money into movies even though track records show that over a period of time, you might not even break even....? What's the tradeoff?
