LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Space is typically thought of as a very quiet place. But one team of astronomers has found a strange cosmic noise that booms six times louder than expected.

The roar is from the distant cosmos. Nobody knows what causes it.

There is "something new and interesting going on in the universe," said Alan Kogut of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.

Wow! this cool I wonder what could be making this noise, could it be a signal? who knows, I think we could have something here as the article said this is six times louder then normal could it be amplified by mechanical means? thoughts comments?

I'd love to get a recording of it and sample it into my music....

Anybody any idea where... the links don't actually have the sound.

I'd love to get a recording of the song you put the afore mentioned
sample in and then sample that into my music.

Fair enough. Only if we can do a cross pollination fuse with Reggae and Rock
after both songs are complete.

On topic -
I look forward to hearing any news on this noise. What the heck is it?!
Rather creepy.

I once found a web page with space noise, and after listening to it a while it made me feel like I was trippin.

Space is a vacuum, which means there is nothing for sound waves to travel through. Meaning there can be no sound in space, so how is this possible?

Raido waves can travel in space, and that is what the sound is generated by higher bandwith.
