Republican Party officials say they will try next month to pass a resolution accusing President Bush and congressional Republican leaders of embracing socialist policies, underscoring deep dissension within the party at the end of Mr. Bush's administration.

Those pushing the resolution, which will come before the Republican National Committee at its January meeting, say elected leaders need to be reminded of core principles. They said the RNC must take the dramatic step of wading into policy debates, which have traditionally been left to lawmakers.

This proposal also opposes Obama's proposed stimulus package meant to get the public works moving again.

This seems to be a movement to go on record as having the Republican party standing against ALL the bailouts, even though Congress approved the financial bailout. (Have I got that right?)

Sounds like the Republican party is staging a revolution. I've got to say, I don't see this as a bad thing for the party. Breaking away from the increase in government that Bush has been supporting is a positive change.

Dont discount the Ron Paul effect. Not quite the Revolution some of us were hoping for but at least it's something!! Some of the more aware republicans noticed the cash that flew Pauls way in a hurry and may realize we will support those that defend our constitution.

Republicans are hurting after the elections so now they will tell promises they won't frickin keep....just like every other political party before them. I'm sick of Democrats and Republicans.

We need something new. We need the old farts out of our government. Old blood is what got us into this mess. Lets get some young minds in there. Lets get some people with little to no political experience in there. I want some damn honest people working for our country.

I won't fall for the Republican BS. They have acted just the opposite the last 8 years as spending has gotten out of control.

I say...screw both parties....they don't really give a flying F about us anyway.

When they start making it mandatory that every person in our government can make only 40,000 grand per year with absolutely no other income whatsoever...and also to ban ALL lobbyists from government....then maybe i might be able to throw alittle trust to them.

But right now i think it's just foolish to put any faith into any of these jackasses, save for a select few.

I just don't get how people can get screwed over and over again yet continue to blindfully give hope and trust to these guys.

Sorry just a rant.

David, I hear your frustration and I concur. How about the American or Constitution Party? Regardless of name, we need a party that follows the principles the founding fathers wanted for the REPUBLIC.

I strongly believe Ron Paul had more impact than people give him credit for. What puzzles me is how many pundits laughed at him and are now saying how right he was.

Remember, first they laugh at you; then they listen; then you win.
