When I refer to ancient flying aircraft of india the Mahabarata and Ramayana are a much better source.

pandit subaraya shastry wrote it but 1918-1923 thru 'channeling' but yea why rely on this new writing when there is already the vast knowledge in the mahabarata & ramayana from several millenia ago.

Actually, there's not a lot of info about Vimanas in those two 5th century BC texts.

Sure, they're mentioned several times, but the VS was supposed to explain how they worked, how to fly them, etc.

No such info appears in the Mahabharata or the Ramayana.

In fact, according to Clive Hart (no relation), in "The Prehistory of Flight" (Berkeley, 1985) :

The Mahabharata compliments "the all-knowing Yavanas" (sarvajnaa yavanaa, said to mean the Greeks), as the creators of the vimanas.

So, according to the Mahabharata, the Greeks invented these flying machines.

Not exactly believable, wouldn't you agree?

Harte
