DENVER -- Boulder police issued tickets to participants after the 10th annual Naked Pumpkin Run turned rowdy Friday night and those found guilty will have to register as sex offenders.

So now because of participating in an annual event that the community supports, these 12 runners may have to register along side convicted child rapists and other violent sex criminals.

The taboo of the human body has reached an all time high in my opinion, and people really need to lighten up. Nobody was hurt, this event was held at night to insure no children were present, and on the same night there was a gang rape and racially motivated beating that the cops could have been actually making a difference in the community instead of runing these peoples lives potentially.

Wow- that is just plain stupid. According to the article, it has taken place ten times so why is it such a problem this time? Making a point is one thing, scarring people for life is another.

Get a grip, Denver police.

Some people in this world just need to lighten up. Are you that scared of nudity? It's not like they had sex on top of your car, or raped someone. If they are doing pornographic things then that's different.

Hell with it, I say everyone at ATS goes streaking tonight. The Naked Pumpkin runner thing sounds hilarious. We'll all put on fake alien heads for the first annual Naked ATS Alien run.

If it's all in fun, it's not really a big deal.

Oh my god that would be absolutely hilarious. The 6 o'clock news reporting on naked aliens running throughout many major cities around the globe, lol.

I really hope the judge realizes the stupidity of the cops, its bad enough the way the economy is, lets not ruin these peoples lives even more. In my opinion, the cops knew the event was going to happen, they should have intervened BEFORE the naked pumpkin heads started streaking, but instead they actually waited until they did only to arrest them.. Seems to me like they purposely waited for this in order to inflate statistics. Now the Boulder, CA police department can brag about arresting the most sex offenders, no matter how wrong them arrests may be.

I'm all for stopping sex offenders. If that means forcing sex offenders to register so that citizens of various communities will know to exercise extreme caution around the convicted individual, great.

How stupid and absurd is this. Take part in a naked run, streak across a college campus, and you have to register as a sex offender. Like, WTF!?!

I live back in the woods you see, a woman a pit bull ... ah, forget it. But I do live in a rural, wooded area. It's a nice house. Even has a bathroom. But sometimes, if I'm outside, I'll walk a few feet into the woods, on my private property, and take a piss.

Based on this story, what should make me think that some day, in the not so distant future, I might be outside taking a piss, a cop drives by and sees me give it a couple shakes before zipping up and, next thing I know, I'm being forced to register as a sex offender?

Wake up people! Stop the insanity!
