Barack Obama has been chosen by the American people as the new president. There have been many threads and posts being posted on ATS where members are barking at his presidency, this is ok and fine since we do this with politicians, but it’s not okay when you understand that an Obama presidency currently doesn’t exist. Yup, ATS is flooded with members who are full of paranoia and out of touch with the sheer reality. An inauguration is yet to occur for President-Elect Barack Obama. These types of members should get a grip, and relax. The President-Elect hasn’t touched anything yet, he doesn’t have a presidency.

This is a serious wake-up call for everyone, and referenced posters specifically. As much as you speculate on his policies, they haven’t come to pass and you don’t know how they will affect this country. President-Elect Obama has also, many times, said he will be consistent and compromise with the needy demands of the American people. This means that his policies are not written in stone, and he will make changes as needed. If America is being “destroyed” he will update/rearrange his policies. His plans will update based on progress or failures of his current plans/policies, so it’s useless, worthless, and counter-productive to speculate.

Stop with the insane fear-mongering, “Welcome to the USSA”…please. “Moving to another country” – who cares really? Get a grip on the facts, and reality itself. Stop fear-mongering of what’s yet to come. Gloom-and-doom! Drop the negativity, for once. “I won’t respect the President of the United States” – Oh’ please, stop whining like a child and do something helpful for the world. “Obama Presidency Already Looking Pretty Frightening”- fear mongering at its best, I just laugh because there’s no Obama presidency at the time these insane posts were published, Obama has no current influence, yet so many spewed fear-mongering garbage has already been posted in the influx, producing negativity as usual for no legit reason it warrants.

Ignore the trolls, the neoconservative tactics of the last 8 years have rubbed off on them quite well. They have a minimal point to make, in that we have enough "big government" and any democratic president at this time will only increase it. The dems are openly big brother while the republicans are closeted about it; thinking that the American people are too ignorant to understand anything about anything, so they do what they do.

We are in for bad times regardless of who is in the big seat. The ridiculously clear attempts at trolling needs to stop. Just as it did in the lead up to the election it only serves to further divide us all. But there will often be a ring of truth to it all, no matter how small.

You forgot the one where disenfranchised Republicans and die-hard Hillary supporters are banning together and leaving the country to find new land, much in the same way our ancestors did 1492 in opposition to the King. They're going to watch the mushroom clouds fill the Obama nation from a distance.

What the hell is it with you Obama-bashers lately? I can't even recall the number of similar comments I've seen today. For people who pride themselves on loving America, you all sure seem to be comfortable imagining what horrors will befall it next.

What the hell is it with the Bush bashers for the past 8 years? You don't like it when your guy gets the same treatment that you people have been giving to Bush since BEFORE the election in 2000. Get used to it pal because it is my intention to do to o-boy exactly what libs have been doing to Bush for 8 years...destroy him and marginalize him with every lie, distortion, and conspiracy I can think off. O-boy will be gray headed by the end of his first term.

Gotta love Karma!

Thanks for proving my point, and the point of this thread. All you do is go around with your basket of negativity. Stop whining because your preferred candidate didn’t win, we know that’s all you’re angry about. In all, the people united are the only true government that can make changes anyway.
You must take joy in wishing bad things upon your country for the sheer agenda of politics, how low and unpatriotic.

Of all the world problems, is this really the ONLY thing you can do to “help”? You must be kidding me? Do you know how many people die to allow people like you to live? You must be kidding me. This has nothing to do with karma, if you know anything about it. Obama is a person, a human, a president, and an American, the only way karma can inflict on him is what he personally done to others, and as far as we all can assume, you don’t know how the hell he treats others, and you cannot inflict your own form of “karma” on him. Do the world a favor, keep your mouth closed. You make no sense whatsoever.

Uninformed civilians like you need proper education before you should be allowed into the civilized world, SERIOUSLY. You’re quite a danger to everyone, trying to hurt others is bad enough and the first sign. The world would be much better if the time you had plotting to hurt others could’ve been given to someone else to make advancement, discover a medicine, etc.

Well now to be fair there have been threads calling him president since before the election even happened, let alone once he was elected. "President Obama and UFO's" or something like that comes to mind. It's not just Obama's critics who are guilty of calling him president when he isn't actually the president yet.

Edit to add the following proof:

Bolded for emphasis. Sounds a bit hypocritical to me.. He isn't a president yet, he is president-elect, remember?

It’s not the guilt of calling him the President; I do call him that too. It’s the fact that his presidency hasn’t begun yet, and he haven’t made any decisions because his presidency hasn’t begun. The guilt is those spreading fear-mongering, and making exaggerated speculations like they’re some psychic with an astounding record of accuracy somewhat.

I would say this presidential election is the most historical election in our history.

We are going through an extreme change in our country and our lives in general.

Looking at your profile and the threads you have tagged it would seem you are in favor of Mr. Obama being elected. I'm happy for you.

However, I and many others are not happy with the results. The fears people have may be unfounded but they are very real to the ones that are afraid or worried about the future of our country.

Discussing our fears is something we do here on ATS. Many are reaching out for reassurance that all will be well.

We do have some members who are paranoid. I welcome their posts and hope someone will give them what they need to hear so they can work through their fears.

You are right...their is no Obama presidency yet. Mr. Obama is our President Elect and their will be an Obama presidency. He has made many of his intentions very clear. Many people do not agree with the democratic agenda.

I see no reason to stop discussing our feelings as long as we follow the T & C. If we get out of hand our mods will let us know and take action.

This is a time when much discussion and understanding is needed. We need to mend our differences and become united once again.

Edit to add: This is not a time to laugh at others discomfort or fears about our president elect.

It happens, and that’s fine. I’m just addressing that it’s fear-mongering, unfounded prophecies and false flags, and that’s exactly what it is. I don’t say you have to stop doing what you do, I can’t tell you what to do, but this is a topic of and in itself, fears mongering and extreme exaggeration of things that are yet to pass, specifically with the fear mongering and exaggerated threads… “Welcome to the USSA”… etc, etc. read the OP/original post.

Oh I understand your point, I was just pointing out that many people have developed the habit of calling him the president when technically he isn't yet.

And yes all the doom and gloom threads about his future presidency can be irritating, and I say this as someone who didn't support him to begin with. But honestly all the threads that have been created to fawn all over him and the threads declaring him to be the best thing in the world are just as irritating, to me anyway.

His most outspoken critics can't find anything decent to say about him and won't listen to anything about him that is good. When confronted with potentially good things about him, they ignore it and counter with even more doom and gloom. Not all, but most.

His most outspoken supporters can't accept that he is not perfect and not everything he does and says is as wonderful as they think it is. When confronted with skepticism and criticism of him or his policies they fly into a rage that anyone could dare criticize their beloved Obama. Not all, but most.

Neither side is right in their actions, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

Are you kidding me? So because I disagree with the certainty of the "Now that Obama's elected, America will dissolve within the flames of socialism and nukes!" crowd, you assume to know that Obama is "my guy", I have engaged in criticism of Bush for the past 8 years, and I belong among the "libs"? You'd be wrong on all accounts. Couldn't it be that perhaps I just choose to reject the callow little prophecies of partisan fearmongers? But then, judging from your reply, you don't seem to be the type to bother looking too deeply into things before responding.

And I'll just ignore the stupidity shown in equating criticisms of the executive performance of Obama, a man who was elected three days ago, to criticisms of Bush, a man who has been the president of the United States for the past eight years.

All I have to say is that, you guys have built yourselves up to believe that he is going to be the best president to ever be elected, and all I keep hearing and seeing is that it is going to be more of the same.

You handed out the blows to Bush for his 8 years now your going to have to live with the fact that people are going to give Obama a hard time.

Today he said that Iran cannot obtain nuclear weapons, he said today that his plan and policies might change to meet the needs of the people. Well he has promised the world and from more of his rhetoric and the few appointments he has made it is looking like nothing is going to change.

There is a divide in this country and that divide isn't going to be solved. Until the left conforms with American ideals. Hate to be blunt about it but the Right, the true right not the neocons, isn't ever going to agree with socialist policies. So you might as well get used to it. Just like the Left isn't ever going to agree with the thought that how far you want to go is up to you.

Boy, you really are the epitome of ignorance aren't you. First of all, as I already mentioned, I served my time spending 8 years defending your hide. My military career ended with injuries. Again, what did you do?

Second, I'm currently a research chemist with plans to return to graduate school next year. Yet again, what did you do other than cry and whine? You are the one that appears to be under educated!

You're all as bad as each other !

Like children

You approach politics the way you approach football or any other team sport

You can't see further than your own noses

It's NOT about 'my team is better than your team' !

This is your lives and futures you're behaving so childishly about
--- not to mention the lives and futures of your own children and grandchildren

There ARE no ' two teams' or 'two sides' in US politics

They are BOTH on the SAME side !

Or, if you HAVE to have ' two opposing teams'

then wake up and realise there is YOUR side, YOUR team ... you and every other member of the US public

and then there's THEIR side ..... US politicians all singing from the SAME sheet ---- all obeying the SAME masters

You KNOW who those masters are

So turn your anger to THEM

But oh no

you won't

Instead, you turn against each OTHER

No-one has to destroy the US

the people of the US do it FOR them

the people of the US fight each OTHER

the US is busily and stupidly destroying ITSELF, from within

So now you see the point of the phony 'two major political party' BS

it's the old Divide and Conquer

and the Sheep BUY it ---- time and time again

Yes, off you go.

Write your supposedly 'scintillating' barbs and hurl them at each other

destroy each other, the way they want you to

They're relying on you to be as mindless as they believe you to be

“What about the world problems during the Bush administration while libs did everything they could do to destroy and marginalize him? I guess you forgot about that didn't you?” – Who are the “libs” and what did they do? You seem trap in your own mind, making outlandish generalizations and trying to punish your president for it. That’s very immature. It’s this whole separatist, liberal conservative propaganda that influences people like you, and separates the free world.

“Don't even go there pal! I spent years of my life in in the military fighting so people like YOU could piss and moan. What did you do?” – NOT- I don’t live in America, I don’t depend on anyone to defend me either. You haven’t done anything for me, so please do not assume that you did. I have the freedom to “piss and moan”, and you didn’t brought me that freedom either, I don’t know who lied to you. I’m not in the army, but I’ve done a lot of things in this world, for this world, and against those who want to destroy this world.

“t has everything to do with karma. Payback's a b**ch!” – Yup, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Karma is the consequence of action; you have no control over it. Bush was a terrible president and an American traitor who sold America out, get over it.

“Being that I fought so that people could open their mouths you have no right to tell me to keep mine shut. Maybe you should keep your's shut or pick up a rifle and stand a post. Either way, I don't a squat what you think!” – I suggested that you kept your mouth shut; I didn’t demand you to do anything. As a said up there, you haven’t done squat for me, no matter how much liberty you think you’ve brought to the world. You’ve done more damage, “wars”. I said it as an advice on your karma comments, because you don’t know what you’re talking about when you posted those disinformation comments. Karma is the consequence of action, there’s not third-party involved, and you need to be corrected as per the motto, deny ignorance.

-zeropoint-, I doubt you're going to be able to convince people that everything bad that happens isn't Barack Obama's fault completely.
What did I see a couple days after the election? Something about the job rate or the economy and it was Obama's fault!
Don't they understand he hasn't even taken the job yet????

Everyone's "frightened" of how popular Obama is or "scared" of what people are saying... Heaven forbid something REALLY scary happens, these people are going to pass right out. Fear of ideas is not a good thing! I think the past 8 years of preaching fear really took hold of some people. The fear mongering is OUT of CONTROL!
