Syria appeals to UN over U.S. air strike

DAMASCUS, October 28 (RIA Novosti) - Syria has appealed to the UN after a U.S. attack over the weekend left eight civilians dead and 14 others injured, national media reported on Tuesday.

Syrian media earlier reported that on Sunday American troops launched an airborne assault on a village near the Iraqi border, killing eight civilians, including four children. The U.S. said the helicopter strike had targeted al-Qaeda fighters moving through Syria into Iraq.

The rest of story...

"The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said that two letters, addressed to the UN Secretary General and Security Council head, had been sent to the UN on Tuesday with a request to prevent further attacks "by the U.S. inside Syrian lands."

"Syria draws attention to this aggressive act and expects the UN Security Council and member countries to assume their responsibility by preventing a repetition of this dangerous violation," the letters read.

Syria also urged the UN Security Council "to hold the aggressor responsible for the deaths of innocent Syrian nationals".

Moscow has said it is "greatly concerned" by the incident, while France urged "restraint" by both sides.

Egypt called the U.S. operation a "serious violation of Syria's sovereignty," while Iraq condemned the attack and said it has launched an investigation into the raid. "

The Police without rules? Don't tell me it is to stop Terrorists! Do you break the law to stop unlawful actions. Is that how Justice works?

Even the Syrians, don't beleive the Syrians. Sorry for the brevity.

If they don't want this to happen again, they should stop helping Terrorists and join the civilized world.

Well, if you're not willing to peg the rabid dogs threatening the neighborhood that live in your yard, don't be bothered that the neighbors will do it for you.

Hmmm..the Syrians complaing to the UN? Asking the UN to DO something? What is the UN gonna do? The same UN that was suppose to keep Hizbullah from re-arming after the Israeli/Lebanon conflict? That UN?

In the words of Dave Chappelle: "What is the UN gonna do? Sanction me. Sanction me with your army. Oh, thats right, you aint got no army. That means you need to shut the # up! Thats right. Shut-the-#-up"

Have fun Syria. I hope you get that request filled LOL.

All totaled, in all wars, the US has killed more civilians. The term civilians is equivalent to enemy enablers. While we don't usually go out of our way to kill civilians historically, the fact that when push comes to shove we don't have a real problem with it is a good thing for terrorists and their supporting societies to keep in mind.

Nothing will come of this.
The Syrians are not acquainted with the concept of truth - and they never have been.
As for the UN, who is the UN's army?
That would be primarily the US military - Is the UN going to ask that the US send troops to police US troops?
