The times to watch will be immediately following Bush's speech and then again this afternoon.

The hour before the closing bell is going to be nuts.

Nah, i didnt think you were coming off as b*tchy, I was just trying to get the point across, that both CNBC and CNN called what would happen this morning down to a T (see thier experts are actually smart)

Plus i just heard on CNBC the traders are thinking we may even see a gain today as they seem to think they just found the bottom.

We have only seen 30 minutes of trading

A long day ahead for sure.

The initial dip was the selling off or shorting of stock by pessimists.

Now the optimists will buoy the market until 3.30 EST. Autobuy orders established at the very low levels will take the market back up.

In the final 30 mins, the shorters will come back to drive down prices again.

LIBOR is down today, commodities down, oil down.

I am gonna stick my neck on the line (as I said in the other thread). I think this is the floor.

FTSE will still fall into next week, but DOW is gonna be solid for a while now. Even the market knows its reached capitulation point... they wont push it any further.

I'm glad they think we've seen the bottom... Me, I think the bottom is around 7,000, but then again, I don't have a degree in economics to back that up.

This is insane. I'm in the middle of trying to buy a house, filled out mortgage papers yesterday. Wonder what's gonna happen now?

Just listening to the BBC... They seem to think a large bank snapping up some stocks explained the bounce back up above 8k.

I wonder how many more will feel that lucky.

Breaking :

VIX is at 70

Up 10% so far today. These markets are choppy and unpredictable... that "perfect storm" analogy is starting to look ominously accurate.

I have three loans about to close for borrowers and a house of my own that is being sold and set to close Tuesday

I am sweating like a dog over here. I hope the markets hold up for at least another week. If not Im screwed.

Not too sure on that. Be watching T.V. when Bush adresses the nationat 11am. DOW opened falling, as did the FTSE. According to the presenters on Sky News there are rumours on the trading floor of a possible worldwide stop in trade. Wow! that is huge.

cnn.com usually has a live internet feed that you can watch.

I'd imagine they are covering the bush speech...

That is a great question.

Does anyone know a site that will be showing the Bush speech?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If there is a worldwide stop in trade then that will give you the crash everyone seems to want. If they freeze everything the second the markets go back you can kiss the market goodbye.
